I doubt he ever even sniffs being a starter. And his ceiling is well below cams based on what they’ve both shown. When cam is on his game he’s been a very good floor general and spark off the bench.

Cam Payne is only 1 inch taller than Holiday who is 6 foot.
Payne plays bigger takes bigger steps and leans into shots better. I didn't know he was 6ft he seems much smaller.
Maybe because he sat on the bench most of the time I didn't get much of a viewing.

Holiday played well here. It was a small sample size and may not have held up over a larger one, but he looked good in his minutes here. Monty definitely didn't take sufficient advantage of him. It may not have changed the outcome of the Suns season, but I guess we'll never know how much of a difference more playing time would have made.
