We needed him at the time he was traded for but Keim screwed that contract up, too much money for his age, not to mention he was already thinking about retirement. You're right, when he reduced his salary that was his final offer, he was going no lower than that.

He was 32 when we traded for him with no injury history and a reputation as one of the best centers in the league.

Kelce is getting $14m at 36. Ryan Jenson $13m at 32. Linsey $12.5m at 32.

We just got unlucky. It sucks but I don't think there's any blame on this one.

So Keim made a move that was as close to a home run as it gets (which is his job) but then it is his fault it failed? Bluto should have been tossed into the wood chipper years ago but I find it hard to fault him when he makes seemingly the right move and it still doesn’t work out.

Hudson never wanted to come here. He was wanting to be cut and then sign with KC. If I recall correctly Keim entered, offered the trade compensation and Hudson was here.

I am old so maybe I'm misremembering how it went down.
