The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh next April, a city where the Vikings have had success in the past, but hope to carve out new memories by hitting some homeruns along the Allegheny River with their draft picks. Before next April, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft.

PFF's Trevor Sikkema recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle. Within it, the Vikings were attached to Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood. He saw a lot more of an increased role in the Volunteer defense after the injury to Jermod McCoy.

Sikkema explains the pick, writing, "The Vikings could use an infusion of talent at cornerback, particularly one with Hood’s aggressiveness at the catch point. He has recorded 16 forced incompletions over the past two seasons and thrives in off-coverage looks, a staple of Brian Flores’ defensive scheme. If retained, Hood has the tools to become an impact contributor in a secondary that values anticipation and ball disruption."

The secondary needs help. We saw what happens when they are left on an island this year when the pass rush isn't working. Adding Hood to the mix with Isaiah Rodgers and Byron Murphy Jr. would give them some depth at the position that they have needed for some time.
