Paid $38 million guaranteed to the top FA pass rusher, have a first-round pick waiting in the wings, and fans don’t seem to think we’ve solved our pass rush problem.
I think most of us hope and expect that the offseason additions on D can take the Cards from slightly below middle-of-the-pack to near top-10. Adding Parsons (and subtracting only future picks and perhaps a non-contributor like Ojulari) would have everyone considering top-5 a serious possibility. That, plus a slightly above average offense, would take the Cardinals from playoff optimists, to Super Bowl contenders.

Edit: Well, nevermind. I guess the Packers just showed us how true Super Bowl contenders do it.

Two first round picks & DT Kenny Clark got it done. I guess when you're prepared to pay "more than $42M/year", $47M/year is no biggie!

Thanks, I was just going to ask what the Packers had to give up

I'd say his old DC didn't want to do this deal. The Commanders have more cap space than the Packers over the next 4 years and a QB on a cheap deal for 4 more years, and a desperate need for edge rush with Dorance Armstrong and Von Millers ghost at Edge.

I'm sure they were in on this, but they didn't want him at this price. It looks like the Cowboys got fleeced, but the low comp is a symptom of Parson's massive salary. Packers overpaid. Overpaid so much I'd suggest there were 1 or 2 more teams they had to outbid.

Packers got an absolute steal only giving up 2 1st round picks, I had 3 1sts as fair. Best trade since the Texans/Watson trade.

People talking about the cap hit being too big just don't understand the NFL cap or how impactful a player like Parsons is. Packers are also one of the youngest teams in the league.

packers were 11-6 last year and just got micah freakin parsons - jerry basically got two very very high second round draft picks and a good but not great defensive end - jerry probably could've found the same deal with a crappier team but jerry being jerry went full on jerk store

I think Dallas got a decent return for Parsons, but not great. I think Jones is chasing the H. Walker trade, and is out of his mind.

Dallas weakness for years has been stopping the run and they got a DL'man that will help improve that, but probably not close to what they need. The two first rounders is nice, but one could argue that Parsons will be better than both of those players by a lot.

I think Jones messed up by not paying Parsons sooner. Parsons is not like Dak and Ceedee who sat back and stayed quiet in their labored negotiations. Parsons is a lot more outspoken and perhaps burned a bridge with Jones. I also think that Parsons has some maturity concerns, but none of those maturity issues are worse than Jerry's immaturity.
