There's too many to choose from, but I'm gunna grit my teeth and go with The Last Samurai.
Thats a good choice.

Honestly for my generation it has to be impossible to pick a single Tom Cruise movie.
go with what started it all and say " Risky Business"?? Thats an easy choice.

But then he brought an old TV classic back to life too, so I could pick the entire "Mission Impossible" catalog

or maybe the time...where even as a HUGE star he took a backseat and performed a supporting role for Dustin Hoffman in " Rain Man"..and was still awesome..

or when he tossed out the "sexiest man alive" image for "Tropic Thunder" and showed up on screen bald and fat??

He brought my Cardinals into the forefront for a day when he played a sports agent in " Jerry Maquire"

Naaaahh.... cant do it dude...any of these is a worthy choice and we havent even scratched the surface of his body of work.... the sci-fi alone is top notch

But yeah...... "The Last Samurai"...great choice....

Good hell..... the guy has made over 50 movies and only a couple of them are stinkers. Taps, Minority Report, Interview With the Vampire, Edge of Tomorrow, and Collateral all come to mind as favorites for me. And a definite honorable mention for it's intentional over-the-top, somewhat spoof on himself fun fest, Knight and Day.

But I honestly can't give an overall favorite.

We're not Cruise fans but we regularly watch MI-Ghost Protocol, Oblivion and A Few Good Men. And yeah, we also frequently watch Knight and Day but what can I say, my wife is a huge Marc Blucas fan.

As for my favorite Cruise performance… total jump ball between two wildly different characters: Jerry Maguire and Frank TJ Mackey. He shoulda won Oscar gold for one of those movies.

I know you can never really tell but he just looks like a nice guy. He's the lead male in a few of our favorite Hallmark movies but I'm sure it was his Riley Finn role in Buffy that first drew our attention.
