2 1sts and a huge contract is probably the bottom of any deal.

These requests are silly. Who has the resources or the plan to trade for these dudes in the first couple weeks of training camp?
Ehh it could be done… likelihood no of course but it could

You root for an organization that does… not a guarantee that it will happen. Doesn’t seem monti like.

What other leverage do these players have? Not much.

Parsons has a $24 million dollar cap hold you have to take just to move him. Only 14 teams have that space right now. One of them is Dallas. The other 13 are executing a cap management strategy they've been developing since last season ended. How many of those teams have the flexibility for a long-term $45 million average annual cap hold?

It's not even leverage. It's just media relations and trying to embarrass your boss.
Embarrassing your boss into doing things that they should be doing works.

Is there anyone that thinks that Micah shouldn't be the highest paid non QB? Even the Cards would have signed him to a deal before now.

Maybe do a demand like that earlier on in the offseason...?
Possibly. I can't say for sure how negotiations have been going prior to that though.

It reminds me a bit (although different sport) of the Liverpool Alexander Isak saga. Isak does very well and is verbally promised that he would get a substantial raise. They then tell Isak that he isn't getting that raise and then formally puts in a transfer request. If he would have done that sooner, he might have already been a Liverpool player. Now other players have signed and Newcastle can't really afford to let him go anymore. Most of the players that they would have signed with that money have signed elsewhere.

Sounds great. But all the time we see teams with less than 10 in cap space sign players to 100+ million dollar extensions. With high average annual value. Teams circumvent the cap All the time with tricks here and there no? It’s one of the many reasons so many Cardinal fans get frustrated with them seeing other teams in worse cap “shape” doing this and that with only so much room but here we are resting on our laurels as an organization? Are you saying it can’t be done?

Don't piss me off by carrying that ******** saga over to this board too. Can you say tampering?

Some of Micah Parsons’ statements today:

“I no longer want to be here.”

“I no longer want to be held to closed door negotiations without my agent present.”

“I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying on the line for the organization our fans and my teammates.”

“I have made a tough decision. I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally.”

This. Parsons is hardly the 1st player in the last decade that Jerra has treated this way with contracts...and he won't be the last.

This . It should be apparent to everyone that the super rich can cheat the system and get away with it. There is no excuse, outside of pure greed to not resign a valuable player.

They just said that last year during 4 games without Micah they gave up 30 points a game and went 1-3

Oooooof
I don't understand why the world still thinks the Cowboys are relevant.
They haven't been good in decades. Until Jerry J retires they will continue to be irrelevant.
