Actually I heard a couple of years ago Jerry stopped at a 7-11 in north Dallas to buy a bottle of wine. it almost seemed like a fake story, but now I'm starting to believe it with how cheap he is.
Lol... Ernest & Julio Gallo went to my high school.. Julio had a house down the road from me and they have a big winery here.
When I was a kid you could get a gallon jug of white port for .69 cents.
One night some buddies and I bought a hobo a bottle of mad dog so he would buy us some white port...only chose WP because it's all we could afford after paying for the hobos mad dog...but he got us two gallons.
We went behind Stop & Stab liquor to this little old church and sat there on the stoop drinking our wine and blasting Shout at the Devil by Motlet Crue on the ghetto blaster...at about 3am this cop shows up. Starts harassing us for underage drinking..we were like 12 or something.
He says, "boys...not only is what you are doing illegal...but I'm pretty sure it's a sin"
I was a smartass kid and that triggered my mouth...
"Nah man, un unh..no way...I have read the Bible three times. At no time does it ever state, "thou shalt not get ********* on the church steps...look it up man, it ain't in there""....
So the cop dumps our remaining wine and sends us home.
That night...for the first time ever...I got sick off of wine. Puked my guts out.
I have tried a few times in the past 45 years but it's a no go. Even one sip of champagne for new years eve and I'm kneeling for the porcelain goddess.
So just know...even though it isn't in the book....
Thou shalt not get ********* on the church steps.
Dude ain't got no sense of humor about that shyte man.

that made me LOL.

the funny thing for me is as a kid I would have gone to the church steps sober and yelled that out. I'd probably still do it now just to annoy my mom. I guess right now I'd rather go to whatever church jerry is a member of and yelling F-Jerry!

It suxx man. I got an exe wife that was certain our marriage was gonna fail because I wouldn't toast with champagne, but used sparkling cider instead...I guess me not drinking wine turned her into a cheating skank??
In hindsight... I think that was God's way of warning me not to enter into anything that's celebrated with wine...just took me a few times to recognize the warning for what it was.

I understand about the feeling of not wanting to consume an item that makes you sick. Also marriage is tough no matter who you are, whether you toast or not. I got married underage at 20, but I still think I did a toast. can't remember it was a long time ago, it's all a blur now and I had about 1% planning for my wedding. I look back at young me and ask why I got married so young. it only made things a lot harder.

As for the post puke feeling... I hope that I can feel that way about the cowboys and never watch their games again. I will say that the lost couple of years I have stopped caring. the playoff loss to GB a couple of years ago was sickening. something died in me that day.

maybe dallas will trade parsons to Washington for their WR. Dan Quinn and Micah Parsons are friends. FWIW by WR I doubt it would be the top guy, it would be like 2nd string guy.

Yeah man...when I was introduced to the NFL for many fans it was still AFL vs NFL..so our house mostly respected the big AFL teams...Steelers, Dolphins, Jets, and of course, the Division...with the Donkeys, chefs, bolts...seahags..but very few NFL teams got respect in my house... Niners, Giants, Skins, Cowboys...but for Dallas it was for a single reason.
The man. The icon. The coach. Tom Landry.
Dude was so iconic the NFL could have put his silhouette on the shield for a logo like the NBA did with..pistol Pete was it?? I don't recall..
But then Jones bought the team....and he just threw away one of the most respected men in the game like trash. Not even the dignity of a retirement press conference. Just kicked Landry to the curb.
That showed me clearly that Jones had no respect for the game, it's history, nor the men who built it....and if that didn't prove him out as trash...it all went down hill from there.
Makes me embarrassed that I was so excited to see them play, and they are the reason I grew up a Raiders fan...I didn't know much about the league but everyone was always talking about the great Tony Dorsett and America's team...so when my dad asked me if I wanted to go see the local team play the cowboys I was all in.
It was a preseason game...but holy crap they were dragging cowboys off the field on stretchers every other play...
So I applied young guy logic...
If the cowboys are "America's Team" and as great as everyone says...and this local team with the cool logo just destroyed them...well crap...this is my team!! And for me the Raider Nation was born, lol...
Jerry ruined all that. As much as I know Mike B is inept...if I could force wish one owner away from the NFL it would be Jerry Jones. The league as a whole would be better for his departure

I was only 6 years old when Jerry bought the team. I knew about Tom Landry because my family loved him. But Jerry got lucky that he had Jimmy and they won so quickly that a lot of people (not all fans) forgot about Tom Landry. it really is sad that a coach as legendary as Tom Landry is basically an afterthought now because of the way Jerry Jones has destroyed the franchise and basically never acknowledges him out of fear of losing his place in the pecking order. He's living off of Tom Landry's hard work. I also respect Landry and Staubach because they served our country in a time of war. That's off topic perhaps. But I hope that Jerry Jones gets approached by the league office like Snyder did. Jerry thinks that he is untouchable and he's done a lot of bad things. He's a guy that refused to acknowledge his own daughter and settled a court case instead of being a father. I understand that no one is perfect, but when you are a high profile owner of a team like the cowboys and you make all that money, why not be good person to your own flesh and blood? Makes me wonder what else he's done behind the scenes that hasn't gone public.

I've told this story many times here, but in the 1988 season, I was a member of the Dallas Cowboys Band - a horns and rhythm section band that played in the stands during games. This was Tom Landry's last season as coach. After Jerry purchased the team, we all signed contracts for the 1989 season, and were hired to play at the ceremony at Dallas City Hall to honor Coach Landry. We were to be paid (80 measly bucks per person) for this gig in the '89 season, according to the contract. Well, Jerry then decided that he was going to do away with live music and go with pre-recorded music and let us all go. And, he didn't pay us for the Tom Landry Day gig. Needless to say, we were all PISSED. A couple of the guys met with some of Jerry's thugs and were told that if we fought him on this, they would make sure we wouldn't be working in the DFW Metroplex for the foreseeable future. It felt very Mafia-like.

I ended up playing a number of gigs with various cover bands for Jerry over the next few years - whenever he would take to the stage to address the crowds, I'd always yell "YOU OWE ME MONEY". Not surprisingly, he never acknowledged me.

It surprises me a lot that the Cards are that high on the list. I would be shocked (but stoked) if Ossenfort made it happen.

Also, Bovada Sportsbook have the Cardinals as 4th most likely landing spot, while SportsBettingAG have them as the 9th most likely.

Yeah,...unless the iggles offer up 10 first round draft picks there is no way Dallas trades him within the division

This will never happen..just leverage for Parsons to get paid. Yeah, like they'd ever trade him to the Eagles. McLauren is probably the same deal where he ends up signing with Washington.

Sounds like this is worse than McLauren.

I cannot imagine they’d trade him to the Eagles.
