It doesn't sound like junior guard Sean Jones is returning to the Marquette men's basketball team any time soon.
Jones sat out his tenth straight game with a left foot injury when the Golden Eagles beat Butler, 70-55, on Feb. 7 at Fiserv Forum.

More: Marquette players have a 10-year-old teammate. It's a sweet story.
He'll certainly miss several more.
"He's still dealing with turf toe," MU head coach Shaka Smart said. "He's a ways away. He's not practicing yet.
"He's not even done skill stuff, really, yet. I mean, he can do some stationary stuff and shooting. He's not really moving around yet. Obviously we're into February now, I think our last regular-season game is four weeks from today, so I don't know for sure if and when he'll be back. He's working hard at the rehab process."
Jones has been plagued by injuries throughout his time at MU.
The 5-foot-10 guard missed three games with a wrist injury as a freshman in the 2022-23 season, then had surgery in the offseason. The next season, he suffered a devastating knee injury on Jan. 10, 2024. He redshirted last season while rehabbing.
Then, this season, Jones also battled shoulder injuries, including one on his right arm that kept him out of six games from Nov. 12-Dec. 2.
"I feel for the guy," Smart said. "He's been through so much. A lot of different injuries.
"Right now, my biggest thing with him is trying to get to a point of acceptance of where things are right now. And do everything he can to give himself grace, take care of his body, take care of his mind. Because there will be a day he plays again.
"It's just a matter of when. And the more that he can be present to be with his teammates, work on his body, work on his healing, the faster he will heal."
