In an early May edition of Jay Johnson's weekly radio show, Johnson broke the news that his 2027 team would head to Las Vegas for the Live Like Lou Las Vegas Baseball Classic. Now we know the opponents that will be joining LSU in Vegas.
On Thursday, the field for the Las Vegas Baseball Classic was announced, and joining LSU will be Arizona State, Iowa, and Oregon State. The three-day-long tournament will be played March 5-7 in a round-robin format. Matchups and game times will be announced at a later date.
“We’re excited to welcome everyone back for the fourth annual Live Like Lou Las Vegas Classic,” said Ryan Holloway, Founder and CEO of Peak Events. “Each year this event continues to grow, and we’re proud to once again bring four of the nation’s premier programs together at the incredible Las Vegas Ballpark. Thanks to outstanding partners like the Las Vegas Aviators and the Live Like Lou Foundation, we’re looking forward to delivering another first-class experience for the teams, fans, and the entire college baseball community.”
Jay Johnson is no stranger to these types of early-season tournaments. Under Johnson, LSU won the 2023 Round Rock Classic, the 2025 Frisco Classic, and this past season, the Tigers swept the Live Like Lou Jax Classic in Jacksonville, beating Indiana, Notre Dame, and UCF.
