At a 15 million ask, I wouldn't want to pay a good chunk to an agent. Likely his last big payday. On the other hand a good agent gets his commission and more from a agent negotiated contract versus DIY.
Agent commissions in the NFL are capped at like 3%.

What’s the factual basis for the last part? IMO this is especially untrue for rookie contracts.

You wouldn’t make him the lowest-paid starting QB in the league? Never ever?

It’s not your money; what’s your concern?

Beck has no traits that Brissett doesn’t equal or exceed.
I'm with Russ - I'd never name him a starter to begin with and definitely wouldn't pay him starter money.

He's not a starter - her just isn't

Why would you pay him double what Flacco signed for? Double Mariota?

There are plenty of no upside, mediocre vets making less than what he's currently making - let alone what he's asking for

It really doesn't look great when you allow yourself to get leveraged by the Jacoby Brissetts of the world - but that is the position they created for themselves

This is the tax we pay for keeping Monti. Brissett is the starter and better than anyone else we have by a country mile.

I’m not sure why paying him as literally the worst veteran starter in the league is somehow unacceptable.

For what it’s worth I said we should have brought in Mariota or Zack Wilson or Trey Lance to at least provide a different look. That’s not what Monti decided to do because he’s the Jacoby Brissett of GMs.

Yeah - I see your POV for sure

I think the bigger issue is why is he running as a starter?

He's a fully replaceable player - I'd rate him as replaceable even as a backup

It's a position they mismanaged themselves into for sure
