COCHRANTON — The Cochranton baseball team lost to Lakeview 8-6 in a Region 3 game Wednesday.

The Cardinals were up 5-2 through five innings but gave up three runs to the Sailors in the sixth and seventh innings.

Brayden Burnette had two runs, an RBI and a double for Cochranton while Colten Mattocks recorded a run, two RBIs and a triple.

On the mound Noah Carroll and Eli Nageotte split duties. Noah Carroll had six strikeouts over four innings and Nageotte had four strikeouts in three innings pitched.

The Cardinals (0-4 overall, 0-2 Region 3) travel to Rocky Grove at 4 p.m. today for a region game.

Greenville downs Oil City

OIL CITY — The Oil City baseball team fell 12-5 to Greenville in a non-region game on Wednesday.

Carter Bialo and Zach Love each had two runs for the Oilers.

Oil City (2-3) travels to Hickory on Friday at 4 p.m. for a Region 2 game.

Panthers need five innings

FRANKLIN — The Saegertown baseball team beat Rocky Grove 12-1 in five innings in a Region 3 game Wednesday.

Blake Burchill had a home run and two RBIs. The Gardner brothers, Levi and Everett, each had two runs, while Levi Gardner added two RBIs.

On the mound Blake Burchill and Quinton Burchill had each three strikeouts.

Preston Keith scored the only run for the Orioles.

Saegertown (4-1 overall, 2-0 Region 3) hosts North East at 4:15 p.m. today for a non-region game.

Rocky Grove (0-3, 0-2) hosts Cochranton today at 4 p.m. for a Region 3 game.

Titusville beats Hickory

TITUVILLE — The Titusville baseball team beat Hickory 6-1 in a Region 2 game Wednesday.

Blake Schmidt had a home run and two runs scored. On the mound, he struck out nine and did not allow an earned run.

The Rockets (4-3 overall, 2-1 Region 2) travel to Grove City at 4 p.m. on Friday for a region game.

Meadville shut out

The Meadville baseball team dropped a Region 6 game 4-0 to Cathedral Prep on Wednesday.

AJ Feleppa had seven strikeouts on the mound, giving up two earned runs.

Meadville (3-1 overall, 1-1 Region 6) travels to play Erie on Friday at 5:30 p.m. for a region game.

Crocker has four runs

EDINBORO — Kylie Crocker had four runs scored in the Titusville softball team’s 9-0 Region 6 win over General McLane on Wednesday.

Crocker added a home run, a double and 11 strikeouts on the mound. Josie Peden recorded a home run and two RBIs.

The Rockets (3-2 overall, 2-1 Region 6) will travel to Fort LeBoeuf at 4:30 p.m. today for a region game.

Eagels edge Tigers

LINESVILLE — The Conneaut softball team edged Maplewood 11-10 in a non-region game Wednesday.

Charlee Sharp hit a walk-off single for the Eagles.

Abby Potts had four runs scored and an RBI for Conneaut. Josie Mihoci a double and two RBIs, and Bella Absten added a run and a double.

Brianna Kope had a home run, double and three RBIs for the Tigers.

Jorja Holeva had six strikeouts on the mound for Maplewood.

Conneaut (1-2) travels to Girard at 4 p.m. today for a Region 4 game.

Maplewood (2-2) hosts Girard at 4:30 p.m. on Friday for a non-region game.

Kania and Simmerman shine in win

JAMESTOWN — The Cambridge Springs baseball team beat Jamestown 13-1 in five innings in a Region 3 game on Wednesday.

Quinn Simmerman, Brett Kania and Joseph Duda each had three runs scored. Simmerman and Kania each had two RBIs and Kania added a double and a triple.

On the mound Matthew Ross had nine strikeouts over five innings.

The Blue Devils (2-2 overall, 2-0 Region 3) travel to Sharpsville today for a non-region game at 4:30 p.m.

Orioles fall to Cranberry

FRANKLIN — The Rocky Grove softball team lost a non-region game 10-7 to Cranberry on Wednesday.

The Orioles were down 10-0 at the bottom of the seventh and rallied for seven runs.

Chloe Thomas had two RBIs for Rocky Grove.

Rocky Grove (2-2) travels to Union-Rimersburg on Friday at 4 p.m. for a non-region game.

Franklin falls in softball

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Franklin baseball team lost to Slippery Rock 9-2 in a Region 5 game Wednesday.

Haven Goodman and Leaha Rial scored the Knights’ runs.

Franklin (0-6) hosts Oil City today at 4:30 p.m. for a Region 5 game.

Maplewood scores eight

GUYS MILLS — The Maplewood baseball team won 8-1 over Corry in a non-region game Wednesday.

Mason Potosky and Elijah Hochstetler each had a home run while Elijah Hochstetler had three RBIs.

Chase Koelle had eight strikeouts over six innings pitched.

Maplewood (2-3) travels to Lakeview at 4 p.m. on Friday for a Region 3 game.

Oil City sweeps in track

FRANKLIN — The Oil City track team won the boys meet 108-41.5 and the girls meet 87-63 over Franklin on Wednesday.

Logan Knight finished first in the shot put (56 feet, 10.2 inches) and the discus (162-4) for Franklin. Lilyan Miller took first in the 100 meters (12.95 seconds) and the 200 (27.44)

Franklin’s next meet is today at 4 p.m. at Meadville.

Oil City competes next at the TSTCA Ourdoor Championship at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
