And there are 7 players on pup now. 6 can stay
There are 4, the other 3 are on season ending IR. Those are very different things. The other three were hurt in practice after camp started.

Players on the PUP list can participate in all team activities except practice. They can be activated at any point during camp once they are medically cleared. A player can't be placed on the PUP list after they have practiced or played in a preseason game.

No. 2 of Connor, Christian Jones and Justin Jones can be put on PUP under the new roster rules
Source?

Because this is from 3 weeks ago.

Physically unable to perform
Players put on the active/physically unable to perform list — or PUP — at the start of training camp have football-related injuries, like those on IR, but count against the active roster.

These players can participate in all team activities other than practice and can be activated at any point during camp when they are medically cleared.

A player can’t be placed on the PUP list after he has practiced once or played in a preseason game.

Players on the active/PUP list could be moved to the reserve/PUP list during roster cutdowns. If placed on the reserve/PUP list, a player wouldn’t count against the active roster and must sit out the first four games.

If a player is placed on the reserve/PUP list before final cutdowns, he will miss the season.

Unless he somehow comes back through the PS and ends up playing for this team, Tune finishes his Cardinal career with a QB Rating of 29.3 and a sack percentage of 23.3%. Dude was sacked 7 times in 23 attempts!

Then he is wrong. I am literally showing you the rules. They can be put on IR with a designation to return. What you are suggesting would allow teams to circumvent the IR rules since teams can only designate two to return.

It’s my mix up to call IR to return for PUP.

But the point is every team gets 2 exemptions this year.

Nope... The 4 from PUP also gets the carry over to IR to return because they were PUP'ed before Training camp. It's 4 + 2.
It literally in the blurb I posted above.

Kyler was in PUP when he returned in 2023. They stay on pup until they are activated.
