That was rather a dud of a first episode. Way too much of the stupid misogyny and way too little of the oil biz. The mother/daughter combo just needs to leave she show.
I was in "Environmental drilling" the kinder, gentler region of the field.
Trust me on this..."misogyny" .....is full on part of the oil biz....smack dab in the middle of the identity.

Well yes, I know that. But it's not even a little bit related to the oil biz in the show. In fact, the one interaction between a woman and an oil man had the oil man being respectful. It's the way the woman are total bimbo idiots away from the men, how they are clearly written by men to be total bimbo idiots, that is galling.

Okay, I get it. You love the show and will hear no slander against it. Noted.

There are a lot of things true to life that don't need to find their way into a particular show.
gee dude,..no need to get offended. I havent watched the show in a while...thought the season had ended.just pointing out that the portrayals may well be accurate...and accuracy is generally preferred over artistic license or fluff. a portrayal of the real world should not be sugar coated just to avoid making something look bad

Agree just stick to the oil business storyline

My main problem with the daughter/mom is that they are quickly becoming over the top caricatures. Don’t get me wrong, they were over the top last season too, but for some reason the unbelievable factor seemed to strike me harder in the first episode of season 2.

But, but, but, that's realistic :sarcasm:

The mother/daughter thing is a ridiculous mess. Agree..... get rid of them or at least tame them down A LOT! Liked Demi's speech at the dinner and like her character, too. I've only seen the first episode so it will be interesting to see how Sam Elliot plays out, but I agree with @Shane...... You just can't go wrong with Sam. Oh.... and the opening bit with Thornton raging on about breakfast? WTF was that???

Agree on the breakfast thing. Like WTF are you raving at a waitress for?

Has ACT scoring changed over the last 20 years? Because in my day a 29 was a pretty good score. I’m pretty sure if you score a 29 you know what “precipitated” means.

It’s a Taylor Sheridan show. That’s the point.

Man, Beth was great...until she wasn't. No character arc. Absolutely none.

He ended up tying to make her a G.D. super-hero. Last half of the series she became nothing more than an alcoholic super-hero eye candy. She was the reason I lost interest in the show.

I think you could say this about pretty much every character on Yellowstone. There were all these great multi dimensional characters, that ultimately all got flattened out and turned uninteresting and one note. I’m actually a Sheridan fan, but it was kinda sad what Yellowstone turned into (character wise).

They turned her into a bad Bond villain. Like do i really need some long drawn out dramatic speech before you just do what your gonna do.

It became so laughable

Episode 2 (Landman) was enjoyable, EXCEPT FOR EVERY SINGLE MOMENT INVOLVING THE WIFE AND DAUGHTER. It was nice that they got back to the oil business, plus the plot with Billy Bob and his dad looks to be a good one.

Again, Billy Bob's simplistic (and not terribly accurate) rant at the car radio was a head scratcher, much like him yelling at the waitress in the first episode. I mean, WTF?

And a 63 year old Demi Moore is still very nice to look at.... plus, so far anyway, I'm liking her character.

Yeah, Tommy ranting about anything and everything is just tiring.

Demi's performances have been exceptional. A strong woman who still feels vulnerability. It cones across as very human.

Episode 3 good news: An excellent new bad guy (Andy Garcia), more oil business (including a hydrogen sulfide disaster) and a performance by Demi that was Emmy worthy (particularly her breakdown at the end of the episode, that literally had ME in tears).

Bad news: His oral sex obsessed, loud mouthed, out of control wife, plus his absolute idiot of a daughter brings the show down to almost unwatchable.... AGAIN. They are not cute or funny, just eyerollingly stupid and obnoxious.
