Episode 3 good news: An excellent new bad guy (Andy Garcia), more oil business (including a hydrogen sulfide disaster) and a performance by Demi that was Emmy worthy (particularly her breakdown at the end of the episode, that literally had ME in tears).

Bad news: His oral sex obsessed, loud mouthed, out of control wife, plus his absolute idiot of a daughter brings the show down to almost unwatchable.... AGAIN. They are not cute or funny, just eyerollingly stupid and obnoxious.
That is one big issue with Taylor Sheridan - the women in his shows mostly end up being god-awful and annoying.

In that regard, it is unfortunate that he writes everything himself. Landman really needs female perspective in the writers' room.
Exactly. Demi Moore's character has been quite good, mostly because of her superb acting. But the other two main female characters are modern day versions of an old 8 page bible (short, pornographic cartoon book).

He writes pretty strong female characters in his show Lioness.

Please reduce the unnecessary screen time for the wife and daughter. Both are cartoon characters right now
The "wife" is nothing more that an irritating, screaming, horny old female dog and the daughter should have an "I" tattooed on her forehead for "Ignoramus." Please..... make them go away.

Geez....... Halfway through season 2 and I'm just about ready to give it up. The entire wife/daughter thing is so stupid, distracting and irritating that it is hard to get into the rest of the show, which is actually pretty good. I keep waiting for them to kickstart Sam Elliott's part, but at this point, it just feels like he's there because he's Sam Elliott. I hope they get on with his character as I can see that there are some cool directions they could go, but as for right now, he just seems like a prop.

Oil business and stuff, Taylor. Can the Pirate parties and old folks home nonsense.

EDIT: Did I mention that the Paramount Plus ap is absolutely crap?

Plus I think Sam Elliot is going to be there to play into the women's story line, which is even worse. "You're just like her." Ugh.

Another problem with this season is it is really disconnected from what made Season 1 good: focusing on the actual subject of the show.

Yup - the most compelling part so far was the Hydrogen Sulfide disaster - which was extremely realistic and a real danger in the oil fields

Whoever thought it was a good idea to increase the screen time of the two girls needs to get canned. I just fast forward through the scenes where these idiots take up time.

Agreed. quite frankly, the only reason I am still watching it is because I invested time to watch 6 episodes and there's only 4 to go. I'll see this through but then I am done for any future Landman stuff, unless I read that they have eliminated or significantly reduced air time for the two ridiculous, grossly over the top female characters.

The more I watch season 2 of Landman I wish Sheridan would have kept John Hamms character much longer and go deeper into how he was running the company how he was and all the deals transpired. Now the shows needs to be filled with a bunch of cringy scenes with family and other nonsense

Episode 7 was just crap. it had a 3 minute segment at the end that was sweet, but the rest of it was at best boring pablum and at worst stupid and cringeworthy. At least make his ex-wife and daughter go away.

P.S. If the company is so cash poor, how does Tommy afford to keep flying his wife and daughter around on shopping trips in a Gulfstream?

***sigh*** With the exception of a tender moment between Thornton and Elliott, episode 8 pretty much wandered between silliness, stupidity and "oh, for gawd's sakes." The whole deal of taking the old folks to the casino was ridiculous with some very bad advice on how to play roulette. Just getting Angela and her idiot daughter off the show would be a winner.

Almost done with season 2, and I seriously doubt I will watch a season 3 should it happen, unless they clean up the cast and some plot nonsense.

I just discovered that Billy Bob is 70 years old. I knew he was up there, but didn’t realize he was 70.

More of the same ole nonsense with wife and daughter. Started to get into the business side of things more but feels like they are stretching this out for Season 3

Yeah, I'm having troubles finishing this season, let alone getting ready for next. This show is going nowhere fast. Fast forwarded the van and casino scenes. Empty calories.

Another hour of having nails driven into my eyeballs. At this point, it's all just filled with "what" and "why" moments and agonizing segments of wife and idiot/ignoramus daughter bouncing about to fill time. One more episode to go then I'm out. Maybe if they removed fake boobs and doofus daughter from the show I'd consider a season three, but not likely.

Why did Cami fly Tommy out to Louisiana just to fire him? Why not just fire him back home?
