Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.

During the Lakers' 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.

Bob McNeill, a 6-foot-1 guard, grew up in Philadelphia and attended nearby Saint Joseph's University, where he averaged 17.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists in his three seasons there. The New York Knicks then took him in the third round of the 1960 NBA Draft.

He played two seasons in the NBA, and midway through the 1961-62 campaign, the Philadelphia Warriors sold his player rights to the Lakers. McNeill appeared in 29 regular-season games with the Lakers and averaged 1.8 points, 0.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 7.9 minutes a game during that time.

During his entire time in the NBA, he registered 4.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 14.6 minutes per game.
