Huge loss for the Cardinals. It will be hard for the Cardinals to compete with all of these key injuries.

Kevin Kolb's sternum and shoulder injuries will keep him out 6 weeks or more. Took a significant beating with poor OL and no run game.
The system kills.

Can you honestly say the team has done anything since 2009 to make this dreadful Oline any better? Wiz & Co should look in the mirror & ask themselves the same question.
They invested a ton of $$$ in Kolb and really did nothing of note to protect their investment, imo. Laughingstock of the league.
.
Yep
I guarantee you it will change the day this seasons over!!!
Sometimes you have to have DWI to realize you've got a drinking problem. Imo we better draft a LT & move Levi to RT or guard, because I still think he blows protecting the QBs blindside. I really believe Wiz will make the Oline the major focus in the offseason.
You are talking about an organization that was last in the league in sacks for, who knows how many years, and then traded down instead of drafting Terrell Suggs.
Dude couldn't stay healthy in Philly either with Jason Peters protecting his blind side. O-line sucks but Kolb is an issue here too. They invested a ton of $$$ in Kolb and really did nothing of note to protect their investment, imo. Laughingstock of the league.

Wow, he could possibly miss the entire season as there are only 10 games left plus the bye week.
Its going to be the same team with or without Kolb. A defense so good that we will be in virtually every game, and an offense so bad that it will be almost impossible to put any team away, no matter how good or bad the opposition is.
Expect the roller coaster to continue.
Exactly. Everyone's suddenly acting like Kolb was Tom Brady and Skelton is absolute garbage. We're forgetting Kolb's Jake Plummer act against Miami suddenly. Kolb has been okay, but far from stellar, missing big plays often. Skelton came in and did well, then was the dog on the last offensive play of OT. They're both up-and-down, average QBs right now.
Not only that but he was a complete professional the entire time. No "Jay Cutler" style reactions on the sideline, no ripping the schemes or coaching in the press.....Kevin Kolb deserves a Purple Heart.
I was so wrong about him that I am disgusted with myself. I never thought he wanted to put his health on the line the way he did, especially since he still gets the millions regardless.
What he did was pick himself off of the NFL scrapheap when practically the whole NFL scene was booing him or calling him a wuss. He played for pride...he played for the love of the game...he played for the love of competition...and he played his guts out for the team, for his teammates...and he made every player, coach, owner and fan proud.
That said---the organization should be thoroughly embarrassed by the way in which it has put all of its QBs in harm's way---by first having a practice squad player try to protect both Skelton's and Kolb's backside in the penultimate pre-season game (and not do anything about it for nearly 5 series), then for not making any move via trade to ameliorate the situation and worst of all for not making any coaching adjustments in order to give marginal-at=best NFL tackles help in protecting the QB---
23 freaking sacks in the last 3 games---is a total disgrace by anyone's standards.
So, thank you Kevin Kolb. Thank you for being Cardinal tough in the toughest situation possible for a QB. You've won a fan in me and millions of others.
The difficult thing is now not only do we need to upgrade our offensive line, but we also need to draft a QB. There is just no way we pay Kolb 14 mil next year after this injury. Hopefully some breaks come in the Cardinals favor in terms of the developement of Massie, Potter and Kelemente who all have ahtletic talent, but whether they can hold up physically in the NFL is still uncertain.
Adam Snyder has a $2.9 million salary in 2013. Maybe he'll take a paycut for being awful.
This.
Kolb was auditioning for his $9 million salary in 2013, and this injury pretty much assures that he's not going to get it. If Skelton can keep a steady hand on the tiller and keep us at .500 the next 6-8 weeks, Kolb can return and make a case to stay on the roster at a reduced salary. Of course, if Skelton can play .500 ball the next eight weeks, there's really no reason to keep Kolb on the roster at all.
I'm not sure I trust this coaching staff to make do with even a second-round offensive lineman. There will be some good players out there in free agency (maybe). It's too early to talk about the draft, but it's not too early to talk about draft needs.
The sad thing is that Schofield is in a contact year, and we can't build on the OLB position (and give someone a year as a backup to train behind him), because we'll be staunching needs in 2013 (again).
The good news is that with Levi coming back (I wonder if he's still hanging around the facility, or if he went back to PA for his rehab), and Massie having another candle on the birthday cake, we'll be upgraded at 2 OL positions for the 2013 season before the draft and free agency.

Kipers's Bib Board (for whatever its worth) has OG Chance Warmack, Alabama at #8 and LT Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M at #9. I know its early but if
we don't go QB getting a quality OL will certainly be a priority. I think we need to draft and develop this position instead of overpaying for a free agent like Snyder.
Just goes to show that using higher draft picks on offensive linemen won't necessarily fix our oline problems.
Colledge was a 2nd round pick by Green Bay and Snyder was a 3rd round selection by the 49ers. And of course Lutui was a 2nd round pick who ate his way out of town and Levi Brown a first round pick who was rated one of the worst OTs in the NFL.
Free agents =/= Draft picks. To me, once you sign a guy as a free agent, his draft status goes (largely) out the window, and he gets rated against his salary. It doesn't make sense to say, "Kolb is the best 2nd round QB since Drew Brees!" when he's on his third contract(!) and he's making $9 million per year in salary in 2013 and beyond, and carries a $14 million cap charge.
Snyder and Colledge have enough tape on them that they showed they were the weakest links on their respective lines when we drafted them. Taking Green Bay's and San Francisco's 5th-best offensive linemen and expecting them to be our 3rd and 4th best OL going into the season wasn't a recipe for success to begin with.
Taking those weak links and expecting them to be two of our top 3 OL after and injury to Levi Brown has clearly been a recipe for disaster. I think that this offensive line would be much closer to average if Brown had stayed healthy and we could sit Snyder for Bridges, but that's completely speculative.
That's what I was talking about. A 2nd and a 3rd round pick who were the worst offensive linemen on the team that drafted them. Guys their original team didn't mind letting go.
