Le sigh. I guess you have to suck to convert 4th and 11? Skelton haters just gonna hate. He threw a pick and lost the game, sure...but also 'won' the game. He can't kick field goals or block for them, though. Kolb gets a pass for his boneheaded plays, but not JS. I know the bias exists, but it's still disgusting.

Neither of them are good, but the blasting Skelton takes for mistakes compared to the out pouring of excuses for Kolb's mistakes is embarrassing.

Skelton made a crap read on a seam pass that resulted in a pick... we have seen Kolb make that exact read and exact throw with the same result before (we even saw it in Sunday's game!).

They just talked about it on the NBC postgame. not sure of timetable. The replay sure looked like the tackler put and elbow right into his side as he landed on him.

Correct. I'd even be willing to call it a dirty play with intent to injure. Buffalo guy put his weight into his elbow, landing directly into Kolb's ribs. I knew they had to be broken then.

Also, I think this is offically the WORST OL we've ever seen the Cards put on the field. I think the '76 Bucs OL may have been better than what we're currently sending out. Disgraceful.

Problem is Skeltons INTs are nearly double Kolbs in less attempts.
I've doubted Kolb since last year, but always knew Bones stood zero chance at being a capable NFL starter.

Unless the Cards are willing to cough up all kinds of draft choices, everyone here better get used to seeing #4 behind center thru at least 2013.

I dont think its so much that he is fragile but that he does not know how to brace himself for hits. You see a lot of QBs kind of duck into the impact and roll up, while Kolb goes down in some awkward ways, or such as today, he probably should have slid... I like the courage of the headfirst dive, but I dont think anyone would advice him to do that when he has about 550+ pounds about to land on him if he dives.

Also if he goes feet first they have to pull up. As a rule you should be taught to go feet first except for first downs, touchdowns, and out of bounds. Every other time is an opportunity to get a 15 yard penalty bonus and be in a better position to take a hit... on your butt.

The X-ray to Kevin Kolb’s ribs and sternum were negative, coach Ken Whisenhunt said, although the quarterback is getting a follow-up MRI today to make sure there is nothing that was missed. Obviously, Kolb is sore. But it’s Monday, so Whiz was certainly not going to start talking about who would start in Minnesota. Right now, that’s because all the information isn’t available for Kolb yet. But there’s a chance it won’t change until deep in the week if at all. Everyone knows how Whiz will be cautious with that information.

Yea calling him brittle after the beatings he has taken this year and some pretty nasty hits is kind of ludicrous.

Brittle does not = Lack of Courage.

It just means that muscles tear more readily, bones break more easily and tendons, ligaments and cartilege are more likely to rip.

Let's put it this way - It would be a stretch to say that Kolb is "really durable."

But to question his guts really is ludicrous.

So what do you do when you have a really gutsy but brittle QB? At some point you have to come to grips with harsh reality and make the proverbial "hard football decision" if we want to win. I hope we're nowhere near that point yet.

Quoting a “team source,” Shefter said Kolb will miss “several weeks” after he had multiple ribs detach from his sternum as well as suffering a sprained sternoclavicular joint in his chest area.
