The Kentucky Wildcats baseball team opens up the 2026 NCAA Tournament against Wake Forest this week, marking their fourth straight appearance in the postseason. However, that didn't stop them from looking ahead to 2027, and on Tuesday, they landed their first player from the transfer portal.

Brody Chrisman is a left-handed outfielder who spent three years with Purdue before transferring to Akron for the 2026 season. He missed the previous year with an injury, but bounced back well.

Excited to announce my commitment to the University of Kentucky! God is good. Go Wildcats! pic.twitter.com/o69iFBvITA

Last season, playing in the MAC, Chrisman posted a slash line (batting average/on-base percentage/slugging percentage) of .355/.453/.603. He hit 13 homeruns, 52 RBIs, 23 stolen bases, and had more walks than strikeouts. His play earned him a first-team All-MAC honor.

Chrisman is a very good addition to the roster, and fills an immediate need with the pending loss of more than one outfielder. If Kentucky gets the same production out of him, it will be a huge win, and he'll be a star in Lexington.
