MANHATTAN — Another one of the top athletes in the 2027 recruiting class announced that he has committed to Kansas State football and coach Collin Klein.

Bra'Jon Melancon, listed at 6-foot, 170 pounds, announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Saturday, June 13, via Rivals. He picked the Wildcats over schools like Arkansas, Houston, Tulane and UCF.

Out of North Iberville in Rosedale, Louisiana, Melancon is a three-star prospect, ranked as the nation's No. 29 athlete, according to the 247Sports Composite. Playing both wide receiver and corner, while also returning punts, he caught 40 passes for 775 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense, while recording 46 tackles and five interceptions on defense.

Melancon made his announcement while in Manhattan on an official visit. He had recently spent time at Arkansas. He is likely to play defensive back at Kansas State, according to a report by Rivals.

Melancon is considered a three-star prospect, ranked as the No. 451 player in the country and the No. 22 athlete.

Kansas State had the nation's No. 31 recruiting class, ranked behind Texas Tech and West Virginia in the Big 12, according to the 247Sports Composite on Saturday night.
