Jake----I don't know you----by sight that is. I believe I have seen you at SDS however. I think you must be one of those guys that wore their Favre, or Emmit Smith, or Chris Carter, or Sweetness jersy to the game over their Cardinals gear so that you could cheer for your team, but IF for some reason the Cards won, you could pull off your Opponent jersey and celebrate with us 30 thousand Cardinals fans that showed up every game.

LOL What a jerk. This is a venting thread. Take your pollyanna nonsense somewhere else.

I was going to Cards games probably before you were born.

Real NFL team's don't let their opponents drive 99 yards at 5.5 yards per play for a winning TD in less than 3 minutes.

In 6 plays with one long pass maybe and Peyton Manning at QB but my God not in EIGHTEEN PLAYS with Vince Young at QB!

I would stop watching them if I were you. We are 7-4 for crying out loud....Horrible ending but we also came back from a 13-3 deficit and took the lead. I am sick about this loss but the constant bashing is going overboard in my opinion. Criticism is fine but now we aren't a real NFL team?

@ New England in the snow, 2008.

The drive today was nothing, man. Nothing.

Couldn't be further from reality... We are now a mere 2 games up on SF. We play the Vikes... gulp... The Niners play the Hags. Then comes THE game. December 14th. Monday night. In SF. Had we won today, that game would mean squat... Now? It's likely the playoff game for the divisional crown.

Also, your comments about us being competitive in this loss vs last season... Huh? We were grossly outplayed today. The Titans rung up 530 yards of offense! The fct that VY is still not a full-fledged NFL QB is the only reason they didn't put more points on the board. And if not for the LSH kick return, our offense would have only amounted to 10 friggin points...

Again this is a venting thread I even noted that in my OP.

But regardless do you really think everything is ok in Cardinal land when they just let Vince Young take the Titans 99 yards in 18 plays for a winning TD? Do you not realize how ridiculous that is? 99 yards at 5.5 yards per play! Never mind how easy it was for them to drive from their own two yard line earlier.

Apparently they do. We are 7-4 and just 6 seconds away from 8-3 with a SB appearance in the last 9 months. I would say we are a real NFL team.

I don't really agree that we were grossly outplayed today as we did what a good team should do when the other team is punching them in the mouth on the road and that is find a way to stay in the game. Until the last two drives that is. Just shows you how important Dansby is to the Defense.

Gulp?

GULP?

Look my friend, one dosen't gulp playing anyone as the defending NFC champs, they gulp, you do not gulp.

Respecting a team is different than gulping and we gulp to NO ONE.

Carry on.... :D

Sorry but the Super Bowl was last season and we were less than 3 minutes and 99 yards away from being 8-3 and still lost. That's not top caliber NFL play in my book.

But the point is not really whether the Cards are a real NFL team I was just messing with you. The point of this thread is that the Cards have once again found a way to do something negatively remarkable. Just like the Chicago game. Just like having the NFL record for most kickoff returns in one season.

We lost on the road for the FIRST time this season. We lost on the last play of the game in a game we came back from a 13-3 deficit in the second half. We didn't quit by any means. The Titans had won 4 in a row and many of their problems early on were injuries on D. I believe Vince Young has a pretty good starting record in the NFL. He is playing much better but I am very upset about anyone going the length of the field on us and beating us. He had some luck on his side on that drive also.

Like I said I am sick about this loss and will be all week. Just not ready to write them off for the loss. I don't believe you are either. Just very frustrated.

If we don't beat the 49ers then we don't deserve to win the division. It's that simple.

Never said we played top caliber. But we are a top caliber level team. And the sum of the parts that you have to look at over the last year proves it.

We don't lose on the last play of the game if we haven't let them drive 90 yards with 2:37 to play to get to that point.

I can't believe how many people think it is no big deal for a defense to give up an 18 play 99 yard drive. That's probably the only one in NFL history.

yeah I thought giving it a few hours would make the sting go away..

I was wrong...

I don't want to be one of the people who overreacts and calls the season.. But the reailty is this loss makes the monday night game @SanFran a must win... a loss and we are almost guarenteed out of the playoffs...

a win and we are in....

So in the end, maybe this loss won't mean much... but if we lose to SanFran and consequently miss the playoffs, we can look to the 18 play 99 yard drive that killed the 2009 Cardinals...:bang:

Never said it is no big deal. You haven't watched football very long if you believe this is the most disappointing ending in football history. The Giants lost a game trying to run the clock out. Two touchdowns have been given up in that much time to lose a game. Again, I probably feel as bad a you do but I am not close to believing we won't win this division.

No it doesnt make that a must win. What happens next week in Seattle and AZ will determine if that is a must win. We could lose next week and SF could lose in Seattle and guess what? Its still not a must win.

Not going to look it up at all because if it is 5,10, or 18 plays it doesn't matter to me. I have seen far worse and although it hurts like hell I still like our chances to win the division. If it comes down to the SF game so be it. If we can't beat them we don't deserve the playoffs.

No today wasn't a must win neither is next week's game but that doesn't take the sting out of watching our defense let Vince Young take his team 99 yards in 18 plays to win. Even though I knew it was going to happen as soon as Howling downed the ball on the one.

True.... but Seattle is terrible and the Vikings are the 2nd or 3rd best team in the NFL... Just going by the law of averages... but you are right ANYTHING can happend from week to week in the NFL, and as long as we have a 2 game lead heading into the monday night game in SanFran we will be fine...

I live here in Washington, and have watch the HAwks closely... I don't see them beating the 49ers... and I hope like hell the Cards can pull off the upset of Minnesota, and they are CERTAINLY capable, but loses like the one tonight tend to linger, and we just made Vince Young looks like Joe Montana... what is going to happend with AP and Farve.....

But I usually look at the glass as half full.. tonight it has been a challenge though...

Well I didn't realize you were born in 1926. That would make you 83. Sorry I called you a jerk. Don't see many guys your age using a computer.

Amazing you were able to survive the heat at SDS being in your late 70s. I'll bet you sat in the upper deck on the East side too didn't you.

It hurts for a few hours, but at the end of the day it is a regular season game and we still have a two game lead against an average SF squad.

When we clinch a playoff spot, no one will care how we lost today. The only real drawback is that our bid to get one of the two top seeds in the NFC playoffs is likely over, but that was a longshot anyway.

Agreed. The only thing I worry about is will we still make the playoffs? Certainly it's more than possible we don't.
