I am good with Bailey…Francis and coming around on Bain…
Bailey for me too. Then Love or trade down. I could live with Reese but not my preference.
Reese is tough to judge. He probably has the highest ceiling of all the defensive players but could also wash out of the league in 3 years.
No to Bain or Sonny. Sonny would be the ultimate "hope" pick. The best thing about him is he's very young and athletic. I see an average player on the field.

The Cardinals drafting Love makes sense for a number of reasons.
1. They are drafting a tremendous, superstar caliber talent.
2. He is a match up nightmare especially in the short passing game. Think Christian McCaffery with even more juice.
3. Team speed. If the season started today, the Cardinals offensive skill positions would have no player who runs faster than a 4.6 40. Wilson, Harrison, Bourne, McBride, Reiman, Brissett, Allgier, Connor. That is unquestionably the slowest offense in football. Love immediately upgrades team speed.

I know there are tons of articles out there today about the Cards focusing on Love. With them seriously considering a trade down they want every team with a favorite player to think the Cards are targeting their mano. The hope is they panic and give too much in a trade offer. It’s just smart propaganda. They might like Love but the offseason would indicate he was not their primary target.

I'd love to have a dominant runner. Imagine having him as the starter and then when you rest him, the opposing team gets hit with a fresh and motivated Connor. Heck yeah !! What hurt our offense the most last season was other teams not having to even worry about our rushing attack.

Lomas, all good points. I'll add that

I'll add that MB thinks that besides the Indiana QB, Love will bring in fans.

That's not true. Trey Benson ran a 4.39 forty at the Combine. Trey McBride ran a 4.53 forty. Michael Wilson ran a 4.58. No way Harrison runs above a 4.6 forty.

I stand corrected. I wasn’t aware that McBride ran that fast. I was aware of Benson, but honestly I don’t even count him because of all the injuries. Wilson running a 4.58 is a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the information. To me, none of those guys look that fast especially Harrison.

Taking a RB at #3 with no QB is how you stay bad. The Raiders had Josh Jacobs & were bad. Drafted Ashton Jeanty at 6 and are still bad.

My biggest concern is that the Titans will trade up with the Jets and grab Love. To say if you have a RB but not a QB, you'll stay bad. Maybe so, but you now have a RB, and by the 2027 season hopefully you'll get a QB, and will be no longer bad.
With a crap offensive line

I wouldn't mind taking Love but in no way am I advocating trading up to beat the Titans to Love.

These are all reasons why this makes sense which means it won't happen because MO is smarter than everyone else.

We will do something monutmentally dumb and take an off-ball linebacker and try to convert him a pass rusher.

Can't wait!

This mentallity of drafting in a vaccum is just silly.

We have so many needs and we are devoid of top end talent. Love is top end talent and you don't pass on that. MO is 1-1 in drafting top end talent. He passed on Anderson but drafted Harrison. You can argue that Harrison is a bust but I am not willing to go that route since he was coached by terrible people who didn't utilize him.

Our running backs are average at best Love instantly elevates that unit.

I would do whatever maneuvering required to get Monroe Freeling and Olaivavega Ioane, then pick up Emmett Johnson in the third round.

If we draft Love, he’ll battle a hamstring issue for most of the season. Note: If we don’t draft him, he’ll be just fine.

Then take the NDSU kid in the fourth round.

LOL And Alt was highly rated!!! My comment is 100% about both players as prospects.

Its destroying the argument that Mauigoa isn't rated well enough to take at #3, because Alt was taken in a similar spot in a much higher rated draft to play RT as well
Boy you got sunk anchor fallacy raging high here. Again, where he was drafted in a good draft doesn’t matter. It was what that draft rater rated him at pre draft that we are talking about. And he rated alt as boom or bust. That’s not a top rating. Alt just happened to boom. That doesn’t mean the draft rater is predicting a similar outcome for mauigoa.

Let’s see what happens when the raiders have jeanty + Mendoza. That would be our trajectory. Draft love this year then too qb next. Would be eerily similar to raiders build

Bowers = mcbride
Jeanty = love
Mendoza = top QB next year

But we would have a head start with a young left tackle and two young receivers.
