BOSTON — It had been nearly 300 days since Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum donned the green and white. And despite showing signs of rust in the first half of his season debut, he finished a 120-100 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists — just 3 assists shy of a triple-double.

Although Tatum missed his first 6 attempts from the field at TD Garden, he made six of his next 10 shots and contributed to winning on both ends of the floor. It wasn't a perfect start, but it was just about all the Celtics could ask for given the fact that Tatum suffered a brutal Achilles rupture 298 days ago.

As for the rest of the C's, star guard Jaylen Brown had a game-high 24 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Celtics guard Derrick White added 20 points on 50% shooting and recorded two blocks as well.

Tatum wasn't the only one who had a homecoming on Friday, as Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg was introduced to plenty of cheers. The Maine native grew up a Celtics fan and also played for Duke University, the same school Tatum went to for a year. Flagg tallied 16 points in 30 minutes but shot just 30.4% from the floor.

In some bad news for the Celtics, center Nikola Vucevic left in the first quarter after fracturing his right ring finger. ESPN insider Shams Charania reported that he'll miss approximately one month.

That aside, it was a great night for the Celtics, the city of Boston, and New England as a whole. So, let's take a look at the best photos from the memorable outing.
