On this past Friday (June 12), star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum collaborated with Amica and the Celtics Shamrock Foundation to surprise the inaugural recipients of the Game Changers Early Education Grants, per a release. Little Amigos Early Learning Center in West Roxbury and The Dimock Center in Roxbury each received a $50,000 grant to help their early childhood education programs. `The St. Louis native took part in presenting the grants and engaged with both children and staff at the centers during the celebration. The grants enhance the contributions being made by the Shamrock Foundation and Amica.

Last summer, these organizations announced their plans to finance the renovation and establishment of a new early childhood center in the Manton Heights community of the Olneyville neighborhood in Providence. The center is expected to open later this year. The Dimock Center administers Early Head Start, Head Start, and family support programs, benefiting over 200 children each year. The allocated funds will be used to restore and enhance an essential outdoor play area while also addressing safety issues. Little Amigos Early Learning Center, which caters to infants through preschool-aged children, intends to use their grant to support the construction of a dedicated, year-round gross motor learning space and to enhance family programming capacity.

"Having access to quality spaces where kids can learn, play and develop can make a lasting difference," said Tatum. "I'm honored to help celebrate the incredible work these centers are doing and know they will continue to impact the community for years to come."
