Stout
A handful of fairy tales from the story bag...
I was incorrect; the Cards did indeed get another RB and it is Tyler Allgeier.
He is a rotation guy. It is a good fit for the offense.I was incorrect; the Cards did indeed get another RB and it is Tyler Allgeier.
dang, that means no Love at #3He is a rotation guy. It is a good fit for the offense.
Don't worry, they just signed an old, oft injured OG. Will totally solidify the position for a week or two. Can't wait until they re-sign Beachum and Will Hernandez.
I am confused by the oft injured. He has missed 7 games in the last 4 season. That is pretty on par in the NFL.Don't worry, they just signed an old, oft injured OG. Will totally solidify the position for a week or two.
Stout said the same thing about JC when we first signed him. Had to admit he was wrong about that signing, well not right away but when it was painfully obvious JC was a very good FA acquisition.I am confused by the oft injured. The Stillers had money to spend yesterday but didn't want him back. He's often injured. Simply missing games isn't the only measure of being injured. He dealt with injuries and missed tons of practice time nearly every week, which affected his effectiveness.Stout said the same thing about JC when we first signed him. I think Stout listens to Pittsburgh fan radio too much.
Translation: he ain't gonna be cut and he really really wanted to be a Cardinal.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Translation #2: he was going to be cut and out of the league or can finagle another 2mill out of the Cards.Translation: he ain't gonna be cut and he really really wanted to be a Cardinal.
Translation #3: mostly #1, but figured correctly he wasnt getting a better deal anywhere elseTranslation #2: he was going to be cut and out of the league or can finagle another 2mill out of the Cards.

I’m impressed I nailed the 5 mil number. I’m not great with the financial projections.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Don’t lose faith in your boy Trey Benson, Russ. RB1! He will save us! It’s always darkest before the dawn.I think Conner coming back and getting Allgier is pretty clear they're moving on from Benson. I found something last night that said Benson's knee still hasn't been cleared but it wasn't clear what the source for that was. I think they are going with a power run style and don't think it suits Benson and with his injuries just all the worse.
I suspect they saw enough of our games from last year to realize we had a run game built around power with Conner and when he went down none of the other RB's on the roster fit that style, so they decided not to make that mistake again. Really hope the run scheme and blocking is better next year because we have to remember even Conner wasn't very good last year before he got hurt. The OL just never did allow us to run last year.

I don't believe either Conner or Allgeier are a barrier that a good NFL RB can't overcome. I just don't have any confidence Benson can do so.I think Conner coming back and getting Allgier is pretty clear they're moving on from Benson. 100% . Not a Connor criticism. A Monti thing. And?
As if you, and anyone else here in the same position, wouldn't do the most you could to get paid for your family.
They will both compete for the 4th spot. Loser to the practice squad.Bam Knight is horrible. I was more impressed with Corey Kiner, the kid they picked up at the end of last year.
Man I’m onboard if this is adios benson so welcome love!I will always think if he could have stayed healthy he would be a good player but 2 years in a row what looked like a few games became out for the year and as I said there's apparently talk he's still not over the injury so I think he's done here.
The concern with Allgeir and Conner is they have no speed, no breakaway gear but in the NFL you have to be able to play.
Love was the closest guy in the draft to Achane in terms of breakaway ability but I don't think we were going to pick him anyways so probably for the best we did what we did.
