I am confused by the oft injured. He has missed 7 games in the last 4 season. That is pretty on par in the NFL.
Stout said the same thing about JC when we first signed him. Had to admit he was wrong about that signing, well not right away but when it was painfully obvious JC was a very good FA acquisition.
I think Stout listens to Pittsburgh fan radio too much.

The Stillers had money to spend yesterday but didn't want him back. He's often injured. Simply missing games isn't the only measure of being injured. He dealt with injuries and missed tons of practice time nearly every week, which affected his effectiveness.

Translation #2: he was going to be cut and out of the league or can finagle another 2mill out of the Cards.
And?

As if you, and anyone else here in the same position, wouldn't do the most you could to get paid for your family.

I think Conner coming back and getting Allgier is pretty clear they're moving on from Benson. I found something last night that said Benson's knee still hasn't been cleared but it wasn't clear what the source for that was. I think they are going with a power run style and don't think it suits Benson and with his injuries just all the worse.

I suspect they saw enough of our games from last year to realize we had a run game built around power with Conner and when he went down none of the other RB's on the roster fit that style, so they decided not to make that mistake again. Really hope the run scheme and blocking is better next year because we have to remember even Conner wasn't very good last year before he got hurt. The OL just never did allow us to run last year.

Don’t lose faith in your boy Trey Benson, Russ. RB1! He will save us! It’s always darkest before the dawn.

I will always think if he could have stayed healthy he would be a good player but 2 years in a row what looked like a few games became out for the year and as I said there's apparently talk he's still not over the injury so I think he's done here.

The concern with Allgeir and Conner is they have no speed, no breakaway gear but in the NFL you have to be able to play.

Love was the closest guy in the draft to Achane in terms of breakaway ability but I don't think we were going to pick him anyways so probably for the best we did what we did.

I don't believe either Conner or Allgeier are a barrier that a good NFL RB can't overcome. I just don't have any confidence Benson can do so.

I think if it's true his knee is still not 100% now then there's something else wrong there but mainly he's a different type of RB. We now have 2 guys who are basically north south power runners who don't break long runs but get consistent yards. Allgier hasn't had a run of over 25 yards in 2 years in fact if you go back to the year before that he's at about 300 carries with no run longer than 25.

Conner's long run last year was 12 very limited of course got hurt early. Conner has 2 runs over 25 in the last 2 years a 40 and 53 yarder but those were of course both before his serious injury. They are both the types as Harry said last year they can make yardage on their own, something Benson hasn't shown, but they're not going to break anything long.

I suspect he's looking for his own Kyren Williams, or poor mans version of that.

We still don't really know what's up with Benson's knee they never told us. We think it's the meniscus but he's been out way too long to just be a meniscus

How long are the Cardinals going to continue to be in denial about the talent level on this team?

The 49ers and Rams continue to be aggressive. While we are signing back up safeties and running backs. Just so gross.
