Man I’m onboard if this is adios benson so welcome love!

Signing Allgier to me signals we're not drafting Love. We need to build up the lines anyways but it is always tempting to have a guy like Love who can take it to the house.

It was so apparent last year after Conner and Benson went down the lack of talent at RB. Carter was never fast but has lost a full step, he's nifty and clever but no 2nd gear anymore. Bam had some success, 4 TD's but 3.3 YPC. The best RB we had after the top 2 went down was DeMercado who couldn't stay healthy himself and literally cost us 2 games with a dropped TD and the insane fumble against the Titans. OL sucked they couldn't open holes to save their lives.

I am certainly not excited about Allgier but he's signficantly better than what we had after the first Seattle game for the rest of the year. I also think JB had a part in the run game, in the short yardage his threat to sneak was a factor but in the base offense the lack of a run threat from Kyler allowed teams to have an extra defender to stop the run

We aren't drafting Love. And if we do, he will blow an ACL in training camp.

How long are the Cardinals going to continue to be in denial about the talent level on this team?

The 49ers and Rams continue to be aggressive. While we are signing back up safeties and running backs. Just so gross.

You can be aggressive when you have a QB.

Trading valuable draft capital for top talent is a waste of resources when you don't have a franchise QB.

Not if they are signed for the long term. Remember how we always talk about having a team already built so you just have to plug the QB in? Having a team good enough to nurture a young QB? Let's try not to be the Raiders hurriedly trying to patch that team together now that they're getting their QB. We will be getting our QBOF likely next year. How about we have a good team around him when he gets here? Why are you opposed to that?

Said it in the other thread I've completely at this point flipped my stance here. Unless there's an Edge sitting there at 3 that we covet, I say take Love.

I liked him before but i wasn't pushing for him because RB seemed to be a reach but this is such a weak draft, and him running 4.36 at the combine at his size really impressed me I didn't think he was going to run that fast. And then hearing his people said they expected he'd run even faster. Im sick of watching Achane on Sunday and posting how amazing he is and then watching our RB's I want that type of threat.

I'm down since it is not a WR :)

I do have one criticism on Love, he hurdles way too much. If you watch any highlight reel on him there's like 5 or 6 of them in one year. Just scares me he'll get hurt doing that. But he's the best player in this draft there's a TD run he had last year that's like a 4 yard run where he broke like 5 tackles to get in, and he had more than one 90 yard TD in his college career.

Playing devils advocate here - does having an elite running back correlate to wins in the NFL these days?

Not necessarily. But unless we can get a haul for trading the pick doesn't make sense to me to not pick him

I expect Conner to play some in preseason. Depending on the contract, if he’s on the roster for game one his salary becomes guaranteed.

I watched an interview with him saying that it’s his favorite thing to do on the field.

There was a story on him on I think ABC where his parents think he's on the spectrum but never had the final diagnosis. THey said he's a perfectionist like obsessive and at some point in his childhood they looked into it but decided it wasn't a big deal and so they never got the final diagnosis. The dad said he thinks it's a big part of why he's so good he's so detail oriented.

That’s pretty crazy. I have a similar story with my youngest(14). Dude is just so precise and it pisses me off cause he’s gonna be kicking my butt on the golf course(he’s already pretty close)before long. Nothing better than paying $100 plus a round for the dude to kick my butt.

the dad talked about how he has to line up all his shoes just exactly right or he can't sleep. And how it was hard to get him to school on time when he was younger because he obsessed about how he was dressed.

So . . . no study clause needed?

it shouldnt...Love is a totally different style back... I see it as, Algeier is conners replacement...but they are giving JC the B.o.t.D. for one year out of respect and so mike doesnt have to eat more dead money.
regardless,..you gotta have a speed back to go with your power back if you want a successful running game

But maybe we could draft Love's running mate from ND later in the draft, Jadarian Price has homerun ability
