let me ask this . . .

how much has levi brown contributed to our success so far this season? very little. not b/c of his talent, but b/c he's hurt. i understand that's not his fault. what i will say is this - our oline is not putrid without him. if edge can look this competent, how AMAZING would peterson look? i say great! and he'd be the homerun hitter we're missing. i guarantee you we'd be scoring more, regardless of bad breaks we've received this year, with peterson taking some snaps. yes, he's that good.
Ok, I did not know Peterson had 361 all purpose yards today!!!! 224 yards rushing, 128 return yards!!! HOLY CRAP!!

YES! Peterson would have looked REALLY nice...

We have a HOF running back whos under 30 and is in the top 5 in the NFL in rushing.

Because of the line play IMO. And how much better was the line with Levin in there? We made the right pick. It ain't sexy, but it was the right one, and I for one was tired of picking the sexy guy. We needed Levi and he has not disappointed.

By the way, that is one heck of a line Peterson is playing behind. .... and it is week 6. Let's not put him in the hall yet.

What good would an all-pro RB do behind a crap ass line? Spilled milk IMO. It all comes down to nothing. AP is a stud obviously, but I don't see him righting the ship here. Here, AP would be injured... Constantly. Warner and Matt prove untimely examples.

Re-watch the game, Warner play was clearly a blown assignment by Edge. Leinart's not sure.

If Edge was supposed to pick up a stunting Peppers to the inside, well..... that's asking for trouble.

Whoop-de-doo.

Right now Edge can't carry AP's jock. If you can't see that you are blind.

I was AP's biggest supporter prior to the draft and I was furious then and I'm furious now that he wasn't drafted by us.

Levi was drafted because of NEED. Need that was created by the front office. He was a left tackle all through college and we drafted him 5th overall to play RIGHT tackle. How pathetic is that?

Given the circumstances who do you think would have had a bigger impact on today's game: AP or Levi?

Enough said, because the answer is obvious.

Are you truly trying to say that AP would have had the same amount of carries, yards,TD's and impact in todays game as he did in a game between two different teams 2,000 miles away?

AP wouldnt get the carries here that he has gotten in Minnesota. He wouldnt have the Run blocing here that he has in Minnesota which is better than ours.

Adrian Peterson on this team guarantees nothing in the way of wins. Get over it and move on.

Didn't you already start a thread on the other board for this exact topic?

Enough already.

I was about to say.

"Bitten my tongue long enough???"

There has been a "Why didn't we draft Adrian Peterson?" thread every week since the draft.

Not that I care, or have a problem with it.

AP is a really good back with an upside as high as the sky. You can make an arguement for him, and the Cardinals making a mistake without a doubt.

I personally think that the right move was made with drafting Levi Brown. Unfortunately, he is injured, but before he was injured he was playing VERY well.

Kind of ironic that AP had questions about his injured collarbone and then an injured collarbone is what's going to send the Cards season down the tubes.

Edge blew the block on Warner, yep. On Leinart's it was simple math. They brought one more guy than we had available to block...they also stacked and delayed it and pulled off the blitz flawlessly.

For crying out loud. We get our butts kicked by an immoble QB the Pathers had to drag up out of a wheelchair and this is the best you guys can worry about?

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Who gives a rat's ass.

Actually, I'd say just the opposite.

I said it predraft, and I'll ay it now: AP should have been our choice. To use a word you, Shane, use way too often, it was "STUPID" of the Cards to not draft AP when he was sitting there at number 5. It's not even about Levi. It never was. When there is a talent like AP available -- you take it. End of analysis. IMO.

Sorry. The line has played adequately the past few weeks. Levi has been good on the right hand side, but Elton hasn't played all that poorly.

We should have taken AP with the #5.

I do.

Why does it matter that we wanted another player? This board is all about woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Maybe I don't even want to think about Tim Rattay leading this team for the next few weeks.

AllDay would have been nice, but I think we made the right pick in Levi. Peterson would not be running like he is behind our Levi-less line and would be taking a pounding out there.

Our run game has NOT looked nearly as good as it did when Levi was in (even with Edge's 28 yard TD, he wasn't averaging 4 ypc in the first half, and in the second half he averaged 2.2 per carry), and the oline seems to have lost a step...and it's leader. Yes, I think Levi might be the leader of this oline, already. He's a very, very good run blocker and while he has to work on pass pro, he'll keep improving.

He is so NOT Leonard Davis that it is funny to hear people call him Big 2.0. Levi has a lot of heart and intensity, two things severely lacking in Big.

He is sorely, SORELY missed on the oline. We need him back as much as we need Boldin back.

He was a solid pick for us.

Why not? Considering the circumstances, he didn't do a half bad job. If our WR's had stepped up and actually managed to catch a few balls without either fumbling them or pushing them into the hands of a defender, it could certainly have been a different outcome.

Our team came our roaring and then turned into pussycats. When the chips were down, they tucked their tails in and quit.

The sad part is that I wear a freaking Edge jersey and even I knew we should have taken AP. The kid was a star every year he was in college.

As Harley spelled out.. we took Levi based on a perceived NEED to and that was only because we perceived that we NEEDED to replace our OTHER highly drafted, playing out of position tackle.

Here is the other kicker in my opinion. We hired Whis who hired Grimm and basically said all spring long that we just needed to coach em up and we turn around and take an offensive lineman with our first pick. Isn't that kind of an admission that you didn't trust that the coaching staff could get these existing guys to play better?

I don't know maybe that last part is really just hindsight, but dammit man... I'm so tired of taking players out of need.

I would have preferred Peterson also but hindsight is always 20/20. We have a long time to go before we can pass judgement on this draft. Peterson could break his leg next week or our lineman could become an all pro. We got what we got and have to deal with it. Right now our greatest problem is the QB. Not only of the future but for next week. I am starting to get sort of numb to our bad luck and poor choices. Maybe just getting old! Things are what they are and I can only hope for the best. We have some good coaches and a very marginal GM. Hope they will get it right. Meantime I am a Cards fan forever and for better or worse.

I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You DON'T pass on a stud RB to take a lineman, NO MATTER WHAT YOU NEED!!! Did we notlearn from LT and LD. I remember watching the draft and seeing Peterson fall to us and drooling...until I heard us announce Levi Brown. Is Levi a welcome addition; yes. Does he make us better; yes. Could he be a solid fixture on this line for a decade; yes. Is he a once in a decade game breaker RB like AD.....NO!

I heald my comments when we passed on DJ to fill a need at CB with Rollee...how'd that work out!

HEY GRAVES; EARN YOUR MONEY FOR ONCE INYOUR CAREER YOU BUM!

We made the right decision. This team doesn't need Adrian Peterson, and we won't need another running back for awhile. Levi has played excellent when healthy, and I'm sure he'll continue to play well we he returns from his injury.

I disagree about needing another RB for a while. James is good but on the downside of his best days. We seem to be wearing him out and he will be lucky to finish the season and play all games. Many NFL teams are going with a two RB system and doing it successful. I think eventually all teams will try to have two good RB's so one is always fresh. If james went down we would be somewhat like in the position of our QB loss although the RB is not as important as the QB. Plan for the worst and hope for the best should be part of our Coach and GM's job description.

How would AP have helped us yesterday? Our O-Line is very thin as it is. When the Panthers put 8-9 in the box and dare us to run (and we do), no pack in the history of the game should have a good day.

Yet Edge ripped off alot of yards yesterday and had a pretty good day, considering.

Keep biting your tongue. Hard.

I'll tell you how. When Carolina and every team from now on stack the middle of the line, AP would have the speed to get to the outside. We would have actually been able to do to Carolina what they ended up doing to us and that is beating us to the edge. ( no pun intended )

I'll take it a step further. We would also be able to run screens.. since our Qb can run that play even if he doesn't know another freaking play.

the Vikings start Tavaris Jackson at QB - you think AP wasn't and hasn't been facing 8-9 men in the box also? Dude's got HOF skills.

Hehehehe.

Nevermind. I got my lefts and rights screwed up.

Point is I still like Brown as our pick and there is nuttin we can do about it now.

Also, Minnesota's line is WAAAAAY better than ours, so Peterson is benefiting from that as well.
