He is so NOT Leonard Davis that it is funny to hear people call him Big 2.0. Levi has a lot of heart and intensity, two things severely lacking in Big.

He is sorely, SORELY missed on the oline. We need him back as much as we need Boldin back.

He was a solid pick for us.

c'mon D, you're basing this on what . . . 1 1/2 games? let's keep some perspective here . . . . we have NO idea what we have in levi.

Vikings have:

LT Bryant McKinnie (7th overall pick and plays like it)
LG Steve Hutchinson (4 consecutive Pro Bowls)
C Matt Birk (5 Pro Bowls)
RG Artis Hicks
RT Ryan Cook (2nd year player, 2nd rnd pick)
TE Jim Kleinsasser (one of the best blocking TEs in the league)

Cardinals have:

LT Mike Gandy
LG Reggie Wells
C Al Johnson
RG Deuce Lutui
RT Levi/Elton Brown
TE Leonard Pope

You guys really think Peterson would be putting up 200 yards for us?

Based on every single snap I've seen of him and how he's always got his head up looking to hit someone else. I don't need to see him do it for three years to get it. I've seen him do it consistently already. He's got the fire needed for the postition that Big did not have.

Oh, and it was 2 1/2 games. Plus the preseason. Plenty of snaps to see him with fire and intensity. Seeing him pancake a guy while Edge runs off his butt for a TD was almost enough on its own, but seeing him out hitting LBs on another Edge run was the clincher for me.

Only if we had a giant slingshot in the backfield and shot him over the heads of the linesmen and about 20 yards downfield when we handed him the ball.

You can take Levi off, because we wouldn't have him in an AP here scenario.

I don't want to fight you, Donald. You're my brother, man, you're my brother.

Good point, though. Who would have been our week 1 starter at RT? Scary thought.

Stop it Lyle! Get back over here, damn it!

My video of that didn't come out as well as I wanted it to, but there are a few gems.

If Edge can run behind that and be 5th in the NFL in yards, why wouldn't he be lighting it up here too?

I don't know. This always happens in these second-guess draft threads. The "Well, he wouldn't be THAT good playing here," reasoning. I think that's a sad argument to defend a draft decision. People liked to use that one with Suggs too. If we suck so bad that great players elsewhere are only good here, why don't we just fold our tent?

There are more than one way to build a team...

I think if Grimm could do so well with Gandy and a rookie at T, he could've done just as well using the tools we had last year. That would've allowed us to draft Peterson instead of Brown. But, we did what we did and the course of our draft was determined within a week of free agency. We HAD to draft Brown, we couldn't risk waiting for an Ugoh.

Maybe Edge isn't as washed up as many here believe? Last year was an absolute nightmare regarding our OL and he only rushed for 1159 yards but he had back to back 1500 seasons right before that. James has had 4 seasons of at least 1500 yards, one of those being a 1709 yard season. This isn't some bum running behind our line, Edge is currently 16th on the career rushing list and could work his way in the the top 10 this year, passing such greats like John Riggins, OJ Simpson and Thurman Thomas.

I agree with you. I think Edge is an excellent back. You'll never find a post from me knocking him. I just think AP would be doing very well here too. He's obviously got "it".

I for one was tired of picking the sexy guy.

Until Green arrived the Cards hadn't picked the sexy guy in several years. Green did and got the Cards Leinart, Rolle, and Fitzgerald.

Not taking the sexy guy got us Thomas Jones, Leonard Davis, Wendall Bryant, Bryant Johnson and Calvin Pace.

EDIT: Looking back to the 90s though not taking the sexy guy could have gained us these fellows:
Jon Odgen, Tarik Glenn, Alen Faneca and Damien Woody. Then when we took LT he'd have had a line to run behind.
