i had a girlfriend once - she was good looking but not a super model - she made good money but not great money - she'd make dinner which i appreciated then she wouldn't do the dishes

but i never broke up with her to date her ugly broke sister
Ahh, but what if you found a hotter one???
I want a hotter one because this one sucks at cooking and I don’t want to wait another 3 years to find the answer.

Kyler is a starting caliber QB; he’s just not a QB who gives you a seat at the table as a Super Bowl aspirant.

It’s very possible Kyler has already realized this and that’s why he’s so surly.
So was Josh Dobbs…at least this franchise thought so.

I don’t believe that for a second
WHAT???? He was our starting qb. Then when Kyler came back we had a 5th round pick as our backup who started 1 game and it was embarrassing. This staff picks their players and this is who they chose as our starting qb’s.

That situation was unique. My theory is Colt McCoy had guaranteed money on his deal, and Michael didn’t want to pay him not to play football. MOJG had to expose how awful McCoy was to get them to move on.

Kyler was still the starter; Dobbs was brought in to keep their team mildly competitive/credible until Kyler came back without threatening Kyler.

Ironically, Dobbs played so well that I think Monty felt like he still needed to ship him off before Kyler came back.

i watch this offense and I dont know how many QBs in the NFL would be more productive: Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson maybe. After that....

This team is constantly behind the sticks due to a terrible run game. So you have an offense that has to throw in predictable circumstances.

It has a bottom third of the NFL WR core and one without deep speed. I really hope 2nd half Marv is the one we see for the remainder of the year.

It has a really good TE, but since there is no WR deep threat -- that 10-20 yard downfield space is crowded by safeties who dont fear anyone running by them. So Trey has a ton of 7 yard outs and curls.

the o-line has been a disappointment. Isiah Adams is bad. Evan Brown and Jonah Williams havent been good.

All this with an offensive coordinator whose entire philosophy rests on running the ball effectively. When the team cant -- he has no answers.

Monti is the one really responsible here - for a guy who says the game is won up front he did nothing to upgrade his o line this offseason (or really, anything else on offense).

Kyler has his issues but he is low on the list of offensive issues this team has.

For the simple minded out there, realizing the QB is a problem does not equal thinking the QB is the problem.

I think there's also a distinction to be made about who is the primary problem.

Maybe there aren't that many that assert ditching K1 will fix everything, but there are many more who think Murray is our greatest impediment to success. Which is ridiculous.

Agree with everything you’ve stated. But it was a huge mistake on management to assume Kyler would come back better than ever instead bringing in a real prospect.

K1 was already being paid big money then though Slan. You cant have a plan that has as a possibility having a bazillion dollars of guaranteed money sitting on the bench.

I understand that but they were selling us Clayton Tune. Had Kyler went down early in the year we would have been lucky to win 3-4 games.
That’s how prepared we were.

Could we put just a skootch more talent around him WisconsinCard?

Just a teeny tiny bit?

Maybe a WR1 that doesn't lateral his passes to the defense?

Or is that the most outrageous request that's ever been made on a message board?
No I completely agree. If you can Kyler-proof the offense and defense he can be a great game manager, with skills to be a good/great QB in certain games.

The guy can pull some crazy stunts to win games, but he can't do it consistently. I was at the raiders game last year and I'll admit his first half was smelly cheeks, but his second half was an awesome spectacle to behild. I had puppy dog eyes for him on that Day, all the way back home. It just didn't last long.

The word of the day… consistently.
I said before we will win some games because of Kyler and we will lose some games because of Kyler. That’s what I call mediocre.
