I'm talking about the fact that he easily cost us the game passing up WIDE open shots 10 feet from the basket only to drive in and get it blocked or stolen multiple times in OT. Same ol **** from him, i don't care if he scored 22 or not.

I didn't saw the game but Diaw stat line looks good. It seems that he made a couple of TO in OT... but had only 3 for the whole game... Why don't you complain about Nash triple double? Or about Hill's TO (for only 7 shot taken)? Or Skinner huge rebounding night?
As most people here I am disapointed with Diaw's career so far. But sometimes I feel people here are a bit unfair with him.

You want to release him... fine, but how will that make the Suns better? Who will provide the 22 pts (11/16 for once Diaw looked aggressive even if he passed on a bunch of opportunities) 7 rebounds and 5 assist? I can give you a long list of ballhog who would never pass an open shot... but most of them would be cancer to that team. I am all for trading Diaw but only if it makes the Suns better (and I don't see this coming).

We played great minus:

Nash Turnovers
Skinner didn't show up
Diaw turnovers

In that order.

I was at the game tonight, and had a blast. When they introduced Shaq and he stood up and pointed to his ring finger the place just lost it. I loved watching DJ play tonight, he just plays his ass off and flys around the court. He played by far the best against Paul all night and with Hill having an off night I was suprised that DJ didn't get ANY minutes during crunch time. I understand its an important game and you want experience out there, but why not show the kid that you believe in him.

Overall though it was a great game to be at, only way it would have been better would have been if we walked away with a victory. I am pumped to see how this team looks with Shaq. I really think this could end up working out perfectly....and if Diaw/Strawberry can step up like they did tonight and fill in Marion's minutes I think we won't feel losing him as much as I initially thought.

Diaw was aggressive as he ever was for a long period in the 2nd half, which helped us to stay in the game. For some unknown reason, he reverted to his old passive self of no confidence all of a sudden in the OTs and passed up several close-range shot opportunities with some turnovers there. At one instance, DA inserted him for LB but redid this after 30 secs or so after Diaw passed up shots to end our two possessions. The contrast of the two extreme Diaws in one game, from hero to scapegoat worthy, is just disappointing for everybody.

Thats always been the problem come last 2 minutes...

[1] Suns do not have a 'SET' play, it is still up to Nash and ball movement to find the open guy for a jump shot, a 3pt shot.

[2] D'Antoni doesnt coach between the last 2 minutes and 10 seconds.... he then sets up 3pt/prayers to tie the game.

[3] Stoudemire, Diaw needs screens down low to get them a good position and receive a entry pass... MAKE PLAYS FOR THEM during the crucial time.

Teams... coached teams.. disiciplined teams.. they play full on intense around from the 3 minute mark, Suns shouldnt play "LOOSE"... as it will lead to rushed shots or turn overs.. its been the dagger every close game loses.

I have to admit, they do need to make plays for Stoudemire and Diaw.. as stated above. They usually are covered one on one or mismatched...

Watch the Spurs play... they always go to Duncan and Duncan always finds the cutter or open corner or shoulder... during the last 3 minutes... COACHING at its best.

Agree on all points. I was trying to say, less (of Nash) is more. They need to work on set plays as alternatives to Nash's drives or p&r. Make Nash do what Stockton used to, setting backdoor screens for Malone and vice versa, and catch and shoot coming out of those screens. We'll be better and Amare will get to learn more roles on the court.

I have to admit, that play D'antoni ran for Nash to hit that 3 at the end of OT was awesome. Some sort of double pick by Amare, Pargo was LOST.

So what's the deal with Skinner lately? 0 pts and more importantly only 1 rebound in 15 minutes of play last night.

Peja was ON and so was Paul, became very clear that the last team to get to shoot was basically going to win. It was a tough loss because you got the feeling we were going to pull it off, but oh well. Will be very exciting the rest of the season to see how this all plays out. Shaq could very well put us over the top and be the BIG we have needed here for a LONG time.

I don't have any heart burn with the game since the Suns played so hard being short handed. The shot by Peja at the end was clutch with Amare all over him. I couldn't believe it went in. We got beat by a great shot. Sometimes that happens (damn John Paxon!).
