The Charlotte Hornets made their second splash in the trade market this summer, agreeing to trade veteran forward Miles Bridges to the Phoenix Suns, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Along with Bridges, the Hornets will send a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick in exchange for Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale and a 2033 first-round pick.
Less than a week after the Hornets parted with former All-Star point guard LaMelo Ball, they also traded away their longest-tenured player in Bridges. That said, the acquisitions of Allen and O'Neale will add both 3-point shooting strength and perimeter defense.
Last season, Allen averaged career highs in points (16.5), assists (3.8) and steals (1.4). As for O'Neale, the wing also averaged a career high in points (9.8) to go along with 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals. With free agency just days away, there could be more moves for Charlotte, who has a full mid-level exception to use.
