I'm serious about the write-in campaign, he needs people to overlook the "Cardinals" aspect of his career, as some of these selectors really don't seem to like the team.

I dont think Aeneas is eligible till 2010..You have to be out of football 5 years IIRC he last played in 04.

So he has to wait one more year I think.

next year is the 2010 season, he's eligible the same year as Emmitt I do remember that. These guys wont be elected until the Super Bowl.

Thanks for the post super.

Jerry Rice and Emmitt are locks (all time leading receiver and rusher respectively)

Aeneas deserves to get in.

After that there are some horrible names.

Herschel Walker? He had one good season in the NFL, one. that is it. And he destroyed the Vikings and made the Cowboys contenders for years because of his trade.

What is sad is I think that a lot of the old time Raiders need to be in (Todd Christianson, Ray Guy and Tim Brown).

Ray Guy needs to be in there. How can you not have one punter in the Hall of fame. My next nominee might be Ben Graham if he keeps it up.

The Ray Guy controversy will linger each and every year. I don't think he will ever get in, unless the pool is completely shallow one season. At this rate, that will never happen.

Of any of the former Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals, Aeneas Williams, IMO, is the only one that is eventually going to get in. He won't be a first ballet HOFer, but within 5 years, that should be the case.

I love Larry Centers and would lobby for his inception, but there isn't enough convincing evidence to put him in aside from his second to none catching in the flats.

If Aeneas played for the Giants or Cowboys he would be a first balloter.

I just don't understand how you could omit an entire position from the hall of fame.

Me neither. Guy was a weapon for the Raiders back in the day. If you are a punter who not only has a big leg but could often coffin corner the opponent, you become part of the defense. They say special teams is 1/3 of the game. Most of the voters don't understand that concept. I watched NFL Networks top 10 HOF snubs. Ray Guy is there and the majority of the HOF voters who were interviewed said they would NEVER EVER vote in a punter. Sad.
