Do you EVER have anything positive to say about this team, it's moves or anyone else's positive comments. Your what? 27 years old and this negative already? Man, relax and enjoy the few good moments we've had, as a team, and, hope for some more in the near future.

In one sentence you, yourself say "the few"

I think that's exactly the point.

Hey jstdvl - do you have any idea who Iam to call me negative overall? If you ask anyone I know, people will say my fault is that I am too optimistic - hell - I remeber stading up at a Frat meeting when the Suns were 0-14 and guaranteeing they would make the playoffs that year. I wasn't on the board last year - but the day we signed Starks and Jones I sent out an e-mail telling everyone how good we were gonna be last year and to jump on before it's too late. Before the 98 season I told my college roomate, who wasn't an NFL fan and was interested to get on the Cards bandwagon cause they were going to be exciting and make the playoffs that year.

I was optimistic in the bottom on the eighth last year against the St. Louis Cardinals that McCracken would show up and get a huge hit and force a tie and we would that game and eventually win in 5 - hell I was still optimistic we would even down 0-2 - I was optimistic when the D-Backs blew those two ridiculous games against the Yanks and forked over a combined 800 dollars to fly home and attend both Game 6 and 7 of the series. I am optimistic that I will make it the film industry even though my chances are likely a million to one - and you know what the comon denomiator in all those optimistic beliefs are - The people behind them - Colangelo and my past performance in varied fields to suceed - Sorry I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT FROM THE CARDS! Jesus, after our first playoff season, we guitted the heart and soul of the team, for pete's sake (Jamir, Larry and Lomas).

So let me look at what I can be optimitsic about the Cards SO FAR since Free Agency has begun - We lost our best player, and not only lost but could have atb least tried to protect ourselves from losing him without compensation and we let free agents that we desperately need leave without EVEN OFFERS! When we do something good, I'll say it, but I don't see anything so far and past history has just left me feeling kicked in the head.

Don't presume you know anything about me. You may think I'm a pessimistic Cards fans, and you're right, but to accuse me of being such overall in life is insulting.

You Go Cheese!!!

One playoff victory in 50 + years makes most "fans" a little pessimistic. Now where did I put those Cub's tickets?

I do have a nasty scar on my head - but I'm pretty sure that came from getting into a fight with some lackadaiscal Suns fans WHO THOUGHT THE GAME WAS OVER AGAINST THE LAKERS BACK IN 1996 WHEN WE CAME BACK TO WIN DOWN 9 WITH SIXTY SECONDS LEFT! Can't believe I got kicked out of AWA with 14 seconds left and didn't see the end of that game - never have to this day actually on video, highlights, nothing. That';s a whole nother story - a good one, nay, I say a great one.

Going to see Cubs-White Sox tomorrow, and Cubs-Oakland Monday night. Was supposed to see Cubs-KC last Saturday but sick kids kept me home.

After seeing the score, I was glad I missed it. Hoping for a nice day tomorrow and a win over the Pale Hose...even though they are just AAA baseball :D

Cheese,

I HAVE NASTY SCAR ON MY HEAD TOO!

But mine came when Gonzo got the winning hit in game 7, I jumped up, hit my head on a shelf, blacked out, and missed the celebration.

As if that wasn't bad enough, my wife just stood over me and laughed at my stupidity while I was struggling with consciousness.

What are ya gonna do?

I love the Cubs, but wasn't that season and Series just awesome?!? I was so happy when AZ got a baseball team. I still have the hat I bought just after they announced it. It is a bit beat up right now but a keeper.

You think AZ was excited when the Dbacks won? Man, Chicago could possibly explode if the Cubs won the Series. It would be like Mardi Gra x 1,000,000.

I'm a diehard D'Backs fan, but I would love to see the cubbies get one, thier fans are genuine and have been through hell.

By the way that story about hitting my head is true.

a fine job talking up the Suns and D'backs.

what is your problem? I used them and myself as examples of how I am positive and reasons why they have given me faith and made me optimistic - are you this petty?

Is this

the best you have? Are you this weak? Don't ever call me petty son. I take the Cards very seriously, and don't appreciate people who try to take the back door to make their point. Got it? Good. Let's move on.

What the hell does that mean? What back door - Showing you why I believe and can be optimistic in some areas and not in others? And don't ever call me son again - what is your problem? Why not respond to anything I said besides a sentence that makes no sense - keep drinking the Cardinal cool-aid and have a good day - keep seeing only things that you want to see - my God - some of you guys defending the Cards have to be insane. The problem, is that you don't get it and sadly don't seem like you ever will.

Don't ever call me son again. I would kill myself if my father were as intolerant as you. Luckily I wasn't raised to be a jerk.

don't ever call me petty. My comments on this board are far and few between. Usually non inflammatory and reasonable about the Cards. However, I do read the rants and raves of others who have no clue as to what's going on at HQ, and the negative overtone that's behind it, and THAT bothers me. As for your father and his tolerance compared to mine, that really doesn't belong on this board now does it?
