I'm tired of giving HC Gannon a pass on the Cards performance. After every game he does "coach speak" and says “It’s everybody and it starts with me." He is over protecting his staff and the players. They don't make any changes and the offense is terrible. This is going to be a very long season for all of us.

Gannon is a leader of men, and leader of men don’t cry to the media blasting individuals.

Gannons seat is starting to warm up no doubt - and if he even thinks about sticking with drew P after this season then he is not the head coach I think he is and needs to go.

But I actually do believe he is a good coach, makes this team fight hard, and has the ability to make this a winning franchise. Kliff and keim drove this team into the dirt and Gannon has gotten 2 years of a “pass” with this year being the first with some real expectations. He has not delivered- but I’m willing to give him another year to see how he responds.

Will he make the tough changes like firing drew P, moving on from Kyler? Or will he stick with the status quo after this season? If we can find an offensive coordinator to run this offense- this team could be lights out. It’s clearly lopsided right now with very good defensive play and an anemic offense.

JG is the only HC in his division who doesnt call plays.
So he picks bad OCs, the good defense is called by Rallis, and he has no clue in stopping teams from getting game winning drives late.

I am not confident he'll have the right guy to replace Rallis once he's gone either. He looks like he didnt pick the right OL replacement coach either.

I was a JG apologist up until last Sunday. After his comment praising Petzing for his play calling, I sold some of his stock
Yeah, I was gong to quote that when I wrote this post. JG saying Petzing's play calling against the 49ers was outstanding was ridiculous. Does he think we are all idiots??

The hot seat is officially getting warm. If he gets to year 4 all depends on how they finish from here. Sadly I don’t think Mike Bidwill will demand much accountability. Another 8 win season perhaps saves his job. Personally I’d let him go if there’s not a playoff berth, whether that’s a 9 win season or 10 win season.

14-24! Measure him by his own standards: is this team disciplined? Are his young players learning and getting better? Are they improving in the red zone and third down?
He seems more alpha than KK. So lets give him a pass obviously.

And I don’t remember BA throwing players under the bus until those last two middling seasons here.

i think gannon got into petzing's ass last night - probably using words like unacceptable because that wasn't all on kyler murray and if gannon doesn't fix it it's all on him

Why would you want a HC who criticizes his OC to the media? We have no clue what goes on behind coach’s doors. We’re 2-2, not 1-3 or 0-4. The season is far from over. OL needs to improve a LOT, and MHJ needs to turn the corner sooner rather than later.

A couple situations yesterday made me seriously question the coaching:

On defense, Melton throwing himself at Charbonnet on the goal line without wrapping up while Sweat just watched was tough to watch. That is not fundamentally sound football.

On offense, the announcers pointing out how our WR just run their initial routes and then stop trying to get open was enraging. Guys not playing through the whistle absolutely falls on coaching.

My immediate thought. If Melton attempts a tackle instead of a hit, that’s a goal line stand by the defense.

This thread should be retitled “HC Gannon IS the problem”. It always starts with leadership. To nitpick leaders underneath him is just addressing symptoms instead of the root issues.

He has 10 days to make immediate and drastic changes. They need to curb stomp the Titans to win back any trust with the fanbase.

Fire who needs to be fired. Adjust schemes, play calling tendencies, etc.

The proof will be in the pudding. He himself said if they keep doing the same thing and hoping for change it’s poor coaching. We’ll find out soon if that was lip service or if he means it.

The penalties are an issue, too. We lead the league in penalties for the next couple days. We'll probably be 6th or 7th most by Tuesday which is still not good.
