It must be amazing having a thesis that’s impossible to disprove. We’ve gone over this dozens of times—there were plenty of ways for Gannon to live with Kyler Murray for a few years without effusively praising him at every opportunity.

He didn’t have to fly to Oklahoma for Kyler Murray day
He didn’t have to say the quote above

The most likely scenario to you is that Gannon was JUST LYING for the past three seasons about Kyler? Cmon.
He took the job and was stuck with the previous regime's QB. Fact.

He did the best he could with Kyler. Tried to win with him.

I believe he deserves a chance to try and win with his own QB as well.

Gannon's record has been horrible without Murray including 1-10 with Brissett so far. So no, I don't think he deserves another shot with another non-Murray quarterback.

A reasoned consideration
I'm curious, @Harry and, to a lesser degree because of stubbornness, @PACardsFan. What real optimism does keeping MOJG give you. What do they excel at? Failing that, what are they very good at? What are they above average at? What are they even average at? I'm curious.

I'm not looking for the injury excuses. I think that's total BS for a team that's never been good, but besides, I'm looking for what they are good at as a football operation. I'm not looking for Kyler excuses either. What do they excel at, what are they very good at, what are they above average at?

Unless they can move up at QB I can’t see a realistic shot at playoffs. Also injuries will impact 2026. Nolen likely out most of the year. Williams should return earlier, but not necessarily 100% at beginning of the season. What will Connor have left. The number of less significant rehabs is unreal. Can they all rebound. Will Campbell return? Is age catching up with Tomlinson? Robinson finally flashed a little. Can he sustain improvement? So many questions; so few answers.

I’d be happy if they return to a .500 (I know 17 games) or so. Of course that would drop them to a draft position of around 15. If they don’t get a QB this year, could they move up enough from there even if the pool is much stronger?
So are you legit in support of keeping them because we're going to stink anyway?

Your points about line play are legitimate. However, most teams would consider it reasonable progress to go from 4 to 8 wins.
And then to...3 wins? Cue the silly injury excuses, never mind the fact that no teams are signing up for a late-season collapse like we had in year two.

He took the job and was sickeningly enthusiastic about Kyler. He wasn't "stuck." Fact.

If you think this is doing the best he could, he sucks.

Nobody in the NFL deserves a single thing they don't earn. Why TF would we allow a crappy defensive oriented HC choose his own QB?

Why, Brian, do you want us to suck another 3-4 years?

it would be one thing if we were seeing 2023 like performances -- undermanned but gritty, smart competitive football; failing due to bad QB play.

that is not the case.

this regime has so many issues outside of QB-- far, far too many for the third year of a rebuild.

There are a lot of factors in play here. The biggest being money. Bidwill does not want to pay yet another GM and Head Coach.
The fans not wanting them back have a plethora of reasons they can point to.

When talking about them returning I think many fans are simply tired of another ride on the carousel. They cling to the 8-9 season, starting off 2-0 which could have been 4-0. Right or wrong they will point to injuries and a bad OC and the qb. They are not wrong. Injuries have taken a toll. Accepting that does not mean you support this staff returning.

But Most of us remember the freshest memories of this season which have been terrible. Heading into this season I was hoping we’d be in the hunt for the playoffs going into the last 1 or 2 weeks of the season. However, I believed Kyler would be Kyler. Sometimes good and sometimes not so much.

As far as the “ I need my Qb” stuff MOJG had two choices. Accept Kyler and try to get the most out of him or not take the job. That falls on the stupid contract Kyler was given which, going into year 4, we are still strapped with and trying to figure out how to get out from under it. How nuts is that?

Any support for MOJG are going to be ones that believe the 8-9 season was closer to what this team should be and this season was undercut by a multitude of factors.

I don’t believe most supporting ( accepting?) MOJG returning are clamouring for or beating the drum to bring them back. I think it’s more of dreading another change and starting all over from scratch.

Of course you don’t want to hear about injuries, because that would ruin your narrative. This was not just a season of injuries for this team. This was a record setting season of injuries for this franchise. So factoring in these injuries would have to be at the forefront of what produced the disaster of 2025. Why would I spend the time to write up a 1000 word essay on the good, bad, and ugly AND I COULD, for you to add a laughing emoji at the end. You have your opinion, and I have mine. We’ll just have to agree to disagree. Move on.

Then what is your excuse for the epic collapse after the 6-4 start in 2024. That team went 2-5 down the stretch including embarrassing losses at home vs Seattle and on the road vs a pathetic Carolina team. That team had a totally intact offense and most pieces on the defense. Add in the decision to kick a field goal vs Minnesota instead of going for the touchdown and putting the game out of reach. Gannon has done less with far greater talent than Dave McGinnis and that is saying something.

Not trying to defend Gannon……. But not many coaches are going to succeed with a back up QB and half of the roster on IR. Just sayin.
because they wished him happy birthy

Dude ain’t getting fired

How many fans that want to keep Gannon actually pay and go to Cardinal games. I have been a season ticket holder for 25 years. I have never been more depressed in watching the Cardinals than the games I've gone to this season. JG and his coaching staff don't know how to manage a game. I could go on and on but keeping Gannon is going to cost Bidwill the fan base.
This year has been bad, for sure...but it hasn't been giving the Ritchie Kotite coached Jets their only win of the season bad...or the Elvis Gerbac fakes out the entire Cardinals defense for a 70 yard TD bad.

Who are the three best players who got injured for this team this season. How long were they out?
