This was from Steve Wilks a week before he got fired….

Wilks said he has not discussed his future with the Cardinals' front office.

"You know, again, asking those guys about the future means I'm not focused on the job at hand," Wilks said. "No, that conversation hasn't come up at all."

or this one…

Steve Wilks, when asked if he deserves to come back and coach the Cardinals next year:"Of course I do."

No coach is gonna come out and say “I’m a dead man walking, of course they are firing me”

"I feel really good (about my future with the organization). ... I talk with Monti and Michael every week, man, those conversations have been good."Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon told
@BurnsAndGambo
he "absolutely" expects to be back in 2026.
Yeah, I heard him. He talks that way about everything. We'll see how it shakes out.

If he IS back there have to be boocoo staff changes.

Yep

He'll surely only be able to survive if he throws his coaching staff under the bus. Maybe they deserve to be

Teflon Gannon

At least he'll be able to show Bidwill/Monti hours of game footage of him not even talking into his headset or to players, in fact just standing completely still as things happen around him. See? This proves I'm nothing to do with it

The one time he communicated with players during a game this year he ended up apologising afterwards

No matter who the head coach is this team needs more players in addition to injured players returning.
It will be suicidal to believe Will Hernandez is part of the solution to the woes of the o-line.
It will be wrong to count on Connor to return to form and Benson to blossom. There are a half dozen rb’s that we could sign. If it turns out Connor can be part of the runningback room fine. Benson is 3rd string until proven otherwise.
We need a solid #2 wr. Sorry, but MHJ is our number 3 until proven otherwise.
We can roll out the same cast with one or 2 additions and think that’s going to do it.
But alas this is probably all a pipe dream.

“I kind of do the same process as I’ve done the last two years: I try to take detailed notes, try to have a pulse of what’s going on, but you can’t let that. . . . I do have to think about the future a little bit, obviously the seat that I’m in, but my focus is really on L.A. and that there’ll be a time to look at all of that and have those conversations and make changes,” Gannon said.

“No one’s happy. I’m not happy. Players aren’t happy. Through adversity, you’ve got to change. So, I got to change, and we got to change some things, but we’ll get to that.”

Unfortunately- I feel like this rams game has huge implications. Gannon is able to get a win and Mikey B will try to spin it that gannon turned things around

Mcvay is not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need right now. Need one more cardinals blow out

This is too close to #content to be taken seriously. Gannon isn’t going to fire himself; no one has said anything.

The guys on PHNX called out that some of the TV analyst verbiage during the game was scripted and possibly put forward as PR from the Cardinals to soften the blow of keeping Gannon. IDK, but for the first time in 30 years, I’m.. I just don’t care. I felt like Mike Bidwill would be different, and he oversaw a good run in the 2010s with Keim and Carson Palmer, but I’ve lost a lot of faith in their ability to run a successful football club under his leadership.

The last time I went to a game, between tickets, parking, and concessions it was over $600 all-in for decent-but-not-great seats for me and my kid, and the team lost. Then our parking lot area was gated in and locked, and it took an hour after the game for them to get someone to unlock the gate so we could leave. This is just not a good experience, not a good product, and not one I would pay anything to go see anytime soon.

Hard to take detailed notes on that 3x5 card you hold over your piehole every game. Or, if your detailed notes are what's on that card you are an incompetent boob.

He makes Mr. Beige look like Robin Williams. He needs to go.

I truly believe Gannon will be back for 2026. That said, I firmly believe that the staff will undergo a lot of changes with Gannon having less input on who they bring in. I would say It's 60/40 Rallis is back and they will point toward the number of injuries the defense had this season. 70/30 Petzing will be let go. I expect some positional changes too. I think this is the reality of the situation.
