I’m in the minority that would like to see Gannon retained mainly because the number of injuries this year were record setting in NFL history. I would like to see Rallis back also, but I’ve seen enough of Petzing to warrant the fact that he needs to be fired. As someone who is now in my 7th DECADE as a fan, there are only 2 common denominators attached to all this losing. One is the Bidwill family, and unfortunately there’s nothing that can be done right now to remedy that. The 2nd common denominator is that throughout all these decades, we continue to fire HC’s every 3-4 years. That coaching carousel absolutely has to stop at some point if this franchise expects to see any modicum of success. Sadly, I don’t trust that this franchise can ever have long term success with Michael Bidwill at the helm, especially in a division where EVERY other team has either solid ownership or a future HOF HC. Bidwill is now in a position that he has to give the benefit of the doubt to Gannon & bring him back for a 4th season. That way there’s no second guessing whether you let a young HC go too soon & he succeeds elsewhere. Generally, franchises can get away with that mistake, but not the Cardinals. Bidwill needs to stay the course at least through the 2026 season.
Again, this logic is crazy to me.

When you play the scenario out and say it out loud you realize how ridiculous it is.

When we have a good head coach, we should generally stick with them for more than 3 to 4 years. But if a head coach is mediocre let alone bad, then we shouldn't stick with them for more than 3 to 4 years and in some instances we should stick with them for a much smaller time than that. The Cardinals head coaches in the 2000s have been mediocre to bad except for Bruce Arians.
The second issue is dependent on the first. If Bidwill wanted continuity, he would have found a way to keep BA in an advisory role after he stepped away from coaching, which he would have taken. But that wasn't going to happen because of Bidwill. If he wanted continuity, he would have heavily pursued Sean Payton because he was going to keep Vance, possibly influence the GM selection. But that wasn't going to happen because of Bidwill. These are not organizational issues, these are ownership issues. The coaching carousal is beneficial to the organization since we may get lucky, which is the only route to temporary winning under a bad owner. I hope everyone gets fired and we get lucky for a bit again.

Whiz won 4 playoff games & took us to a SB, so you have to add him to the list of good coaches we’ve had. Granted, the NFCW was pathetic during his years with the Cardinals, but he did manage to beat teams like Atlanta, Green Bay, and Philadelphia in the playoffs. The Cardinals set an NFL record for the amount of injuries they had in 2025, so it’s my opinion that Gannon cannot be fully to blame for that. I may end up being wrong, and that’s ok, but I would have him finish out his contract & see how it goes. Having seen the coaching carousel over the decades, wash, rinse, repeat sounds worse to me than keeping him at this juncture. You’ll never hear me sing the praises of the Bidwill family as OWNERS. They are good people who actually do want to win, but have failed miserably at actually building a franchise top to bottom. Will that ever change? Probably not & maybe you’re right in that all we can wish for is to get “lucky” and have very short stints of moderate success. As far as BA is concerned, he never had ANY interest in being in any kind of advisory position. BA is from York, PA. He went to the same HS as all my children. Steve Keim was from here too. They came back here often for speaking engagements during the offseason & I had the opportunity on at least 3 different occasions to hear them speak & to break bread with them and their PA cronies after these events. And because I was the ONLY Cardinal fan of the bunch (they were all Steeler fans), I was always welcome to join in afterwards. BASK were great people & BA came here to win and win fast. He was already in his 60’s, wanted no part in developing a young QB, and every decision they made was to win asap & that’s why when the window of opportunity for a championship closed, it slammed shut.
Fast forward to the current regime. Give Bidwill some credit. He was tired of short stints of success & he brought in MOJG to build a team from scratch & one that OVER TIME could have sustained success. They are very young, they do have talent, and they do play hard. They showed continued success until due to injuries, they just had too many young guys thrust into roles that they couldn’t or were just not ready to excel at. Doesn’t mean they won’t in the near future. The silver lining to the 2025 season is that so many young guys were forced to play & that is never a bad thing from a developmental standpoint. MOJG built this from scratch & I believe they deserve the opportunity to bounce back from an injury riddled season the likes that I have never seen in my 62 years as a Cardinal fan. To start all over again is not the answer right now.

We will never agree when it comes to this subject, so you’re wasting your time. 1st year & this season don’t matter to me & I don’t need to explain why. It’s obvious why.

Yes… by all means… let’s go with “we play in a division with 3 HOF coaches so we need to give the wildly unsuccessful coach even more time than usual to show he’s nowhere close to their level” plan.
