Spring and summer seem to be a strange time of year to be playing hockey, but the hard work put in by the 2018 Greater Plymouth Mites has been rewarded with the program’s first South Shore Town Cup Championship.
The youth hockey team’s roster is made up of emerging skaters from Plymouth as well as surrounding towns. The boys won the title in fine style, going undefeated in five games and finishing off the fun with a 6-5 win over Greater Pembroke. Teams in the tournament come from Quincy all the way to Cape Cod.
Greater Plymouth’s Grayson Judge and Lochlan Moore were named to the All-Tournament team. The honors did not stop there as Myles Patronick won Goalie MVP for the tournament and Bryson Navis was named the overall MVP.
Greater Plymouth has competed in the South Shore Town Cup Championship tournament for three years. It left without a win in its first year, then bounced right back the next season to make it all the way to the championship game where it lost to Duxbury in overtime.
Greater Plymouth went to OT again this year, but this time it defeated Greater Pembroke to complete a tremendous tournament run.
The members of the title-winning hockey team are Bryce Garrard, Bryson Navis, Caleb Daniels, Cooper Figlioli, Grayson Judge, Jack Concannon, Kosta Tsoleridis, Lochlan Moore, Myles Patronick, Nolan Wissman, Rocco Pinto, Ryan Rotondi, and Thomas Carey.
Head coach of the team is Amy Wissman and she was assisted on the bench by Justin Wissman, Marc Concannon, and Tom Pinto.
