Weymouth High's Liam Barr has been voted the South Shore High School Male Athlete of the Week.

Barr received more than 6,500 votes to earn the honor. The right-handed pitcher set a new single-game program record (for 7 innings) with 17 strikeouts in pitching the Wildcats to a 2-0 win over Norwell in the regular-season finale. In 2003, Chris McDonough had 20 strikeouts vs. Newton North in a 9-inning game.
