The Georgia Bulldogs (22-10, 10-8 SEC) will play the Saint Louis Billikens (28-5, 15-3 Atlantic 10) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, March 19 at 9:45 p.m. ET in Buffalo, New York. Georgia has made back-to-back March Madness appearances for the first time in over two decades.
Georgia scored the most points in school history and already has the most wins in school history. The Bulldogs have made consecutive March Madness appearances just four times in program history.
"(We're) excited to still be playing," Georgia basketball coach Mike White said after learning the Bulldogs' NCAA Tournament path. "Excited to represent University of Georgia in the NCAA Tournament. Continue to love coaching these guys.
"We're playing a dangerous team, and we're pretty dangerous ourselves. We had a great regular season and had a great fight the other day, after a really slow start in the SEC Tournament. We're just honored to have another chance to see where this thing takes us. Excited for these guys to be able to compete again together."
The Bulldogs earned a No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play the Billikens, who earned a No. 9 seed. Both Georgia and Saint Louis received at-large bids after putting together strong regular seasons.
The Georgia-Saint Louis game will be televised on CBS with Brian Anderson, Jim Jackson and Allie LaForce calling the game. The Georgia-Saint Louis game will start following the conclusion of the No. 1 seed Michigan versus No. 16 seed Howard/UMBC game. The winner of Georgia versus Saint Louis will play the winner of Michigan versus Howard/UMBC on Saturday, March 21 for a spot in the Sweet Sixteen.
