The Georgia Bulldogs will face the Saint Louis Billikens in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night (televised on CBS). Georgia (22-10, 10-8 SEC) will enter the tournament as the No. 8 seed in the Midwest Region (Chicago), as the Dawgs will look to keep their season alive against No. 9 Saint Louis in Buffalo, New York.

Georgia basketball will look to bounce back against Saint Louis following an upset 76-72 loss to Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament. Saint Louis holds an overall record of 28-5 this season and won the Atlantic 10 conference crown during the regular season, as the Bulldogs will be faced with a true test in the opening round of March Madness.

ESPN’s matchup predictor gives Georgia the slight edge entering Thursday night’s matchup. Georgia has a 50.9% chance of beating Saint Louis, who has lost just five total games this season. However, UGA enters the game with more momentum. The Bulldogs have won five of their last seven while the Billikens have won just four of their last eight.

ESPN college basketball expert Jay Bilas also predicted that Georgia would defeat Saint Louis. The Bulldogs are slight favorites over the Billikens.
