The man didn't even try to take over play calling on D with job on the line towards end. That's absolutely mind boggling to me smh
I get that he wanted to stay true to who he was. I respect that even if I also know it is likely what got him fired.

I don’t love any of those guys but they’re all better than Jonathan Gannon.

They're not. I can understand why people think so after a 3-14 season, but IR robbed us of at least 4 wins.

Gannon and his staff had potential, they were young and developing. Odds are whoever comes in is a no hoper. Screw it, hire Jeff Fisher.

Bro you are who your record says you are. I won’t be surprised is Gannon is out of the NFL altogether in five years.

Seems like a great guy, but not all great guys make great head coaches. Maybe he will do what most coordinators who failed as coaches do and go back to being a coordinator.

I was kind of surprised that JG was fired. I hoped he would be fired but I didn't have a ton of confidence that Michael Bidwill would fire him.

At least there's some hope now with a new head coach. :) Next season was shaping up to be a gloomy/depressing waste of time with JG still as the head coach.

I'll go first...Murray was benched by management, not the coaches.
As many people who say MB is cheap why would he want to pay Murray to sit on the bench? I believe JG went to Michael or Monti and said something to the effect of we can't win with this guy, so we either bench him or give me an extension. So MB said go ahead and bench him. Or Gannon did it on your his own, in which case means he could be back. I doubt he's back. IMO

Because if he gets injured you can’t trade him and maybe not release him.

I have a hard time believing that Gannon wanted to bench Kyler while K1 is publicly thanking him on twitter.

Not to mention, after 3 or 4 games with Jabroni, he could see the offense was fun, but the wins weren't coming. If he even thought for a minute his job was on the line, he switches back to Kyler.

I do not agree WC. Three reasons.

First, the encrypting message from Kyler to Gannon.

Second. During MBMO press conference if they wanted Kyler here next year Monti would have been gushing about looking forward to a healthy Kyler returning to lead this team.

Third. If Gannon demanded to bench Kyler then Monti could of fired him on the spot. I think we will find out sooner or later it was quite the opposite.

The message on X was well after the fact.

I don't think they want Kyler here. If a coach comes in and says I can't win with this guy, why would they want him back

I never said Gannon demanded anything. So why would Monti fire the dude for telling him the truth?

Kyler isn't coming back. That relationship is more than fractured.

Totally agree. We’ll never know what really went on.
One thing is for sure. SOMEBODY doesn’t want Kyler back.
I wasn’t referring you claiming Gannon demanding anything.
But it appears to me Gannon might have WANTED Kyler back in the lineup with that message from Kyler.
And with the total non-support by Monti at the press conferences really makes it appear he is through with Kyler maybe as early as week 6-7.

BS… since they were 6-4 last year and before the injuries piled up and they benched Kyler, they went an absolutely pathetic 4-8, including HORRIFIC losses to an atrocious Panthers team in 2024 with the playoffs on the line and an even worse Tennessee team early this season.

And all that happened when the team was relatively healthy and SUPPOSED to be rounding into playoff form after 1.5 years of building and grooming.

And then pressure hit, the rubber hit the road and Gannon and his team fell flat on their face. Then once they realized they were screwed the team started getting blown out regularly and guys started making business decisions either on the field or taking the rest of the season off on IR off it.

What in the world would make you think otherwise? Seriously. This is a slam dunk.
When was the last time we saw a horrible Cardinals Head Coach (or even a mediocre one) go somewhere else and be successful? Bugel? Went to the Raiders, was a disaster. Denny Green? Never coached again. Wilks? Never coached again. Kliff? Likely never HC again. Even Wiz… who was good to mediocre went to one more team and was never good again.

Arians was the only coach who went somewhere else and had success but Arians was legit a GOOD TO GREAT coach here. The guy won 8 games with Blaine Gabbert and The Seattle Sideline Dancing Fool QB in his last year.

This dude was a bad coach for a bad franchise. You could see it in game day decisions every single game, especially the close games where my Dad and I would consistently disagree with crucial calls and at the end of games look at each other and say it was just another case of “All the wrong moves.”

But we’ll probably never know because I’ll be stunned if he even ever gets another chance.
