Should do better with Micah Parsons instead of <insert defensive lineman on the Cards here>. Of course, Micah coming off an ACL will probably hinder him a bit the first year back (but he will still probably be a beast).

So this will offset some of JG's salary

Will MB spend more on the next coach and staff?
Depends on the contract. HC to HC is pretty standard now to have off-set language, but HC to Coordinator is not always a given. I am sure MB insists on it though and according to the AI, which is wrong a lot, it says he did.

I’m glad he landed with a good team. I feel Bidwill screwed him over by releasing him. Maybe he didn’t want to let his OC and DC go but to make him keep Kyler is a challenge for anyone. A big reason we can’t attract a replacement for Gannon after the fact.

Kerouac9, what part didn’t you like?
Just pure speculation. It’s much more likely that he got fired for going 3-14 in the third season of a rebuild than he refused to fire Petzing, who was not under contract, or Rallis, whose defense was terrible this year despite getting a ton of resources and being relatively healthy.

Gannon’s theory of how to win turned out wrong. That’s why he was fired.

Interesting tidbit from The Athletic's "Packers Mailbag" from a few days ago:
Why didn’t they wait for Jim Leonhard to be interviewed? — @jozambada

According to my good friend Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers moved quickly on Gannon because both Harbaugh brothers were interested in him. I was a little surprised they didn’t wait to speak with Leonhard, but it appears LaFleur really didn’t want to miss out on Gannon.
