3, We have largely always known when our defense sucked and there has been no core group of guys saying "The defense is great actually", top 10 in the league, that needed pointing out that wasn't the case.
Look at this guy, always ready to put everyone in their place if they get too positive. Breath of fresh air if you ask me!

clown goes through a game to nitpick every little thing a QB hypothetically could have done, which you can do for literally any QB in any game in any week

I like a fair amount of what Britcard posts, truly. It's some really good stuff sometimes.

But this... It's so over the top.

1, It takes enough time to watch all the offense without doing the defense too.
I suggest to alternate each week.
2, It's objectively easy to see bad offensive play. QB's make bad passes, miss open guys, linemen whiff on blocks etc. It's much more difficult on defense.
ILBs don’t over over-pursuit? iDLs doesn’t get washed away? EDGEs don’t contain? DBs miscommunicate or lose their man? It’s also objectively easy to bad defensive play as well.

This goes against what you just said. Anyways, our defense (or shouldn’t) doesn’t suck now.

I think folks here would love to understand how Will Johnson had a great rookie debut. How DMD had such a good game? How Robinson seemed to struggle? Why is Darius Stills our best interior pass-rusher.

Hell, our HC is a defensive-minded coach after all.

I don't know man. I debated this myself and came out with the safety is easily far enough away to complete it. If that safety is close enough I'm not sure how any pass over 15 ever gets made.

had the safety been closer the hash, clearly open. Opposite side of the numbers - maybe.

i think an NFL safety covers that ground easily from where he is

This is the 1st of Kyler's self sacks.

I don't really like the play design but then I don't like right handed throwers booting out to that side but we've ran this play before and Saints knew it. When we normally run this it's a pass to McBride in the flat and he get's another 5-6 YAC, but the DE drops off with McBride and blows it up.

But the 2nd option here is Marv. You'll see Marv fake out the CB and send up up field so he's uncovered but Kyler has already decided he's going to sack himself rather than having his eyes upfield. That's poor QB play for me.

I don’t even know if this is a designed bootleg; the OL gives Kyler a nice pocket and he just abandons it.

Honestly no idea, it was either weak sauce by McBride or Reiman should have been blocking and ran a route instead which surprised Trey.

Logically it seems odd to have them both run routes when it seems one should be blocking, and you would think Tip would be assigned to block, but too many unknowns.
Tip and McBride ran into each other. Clear confusion of responsibilities... I'm going to assume Tip Reiman got it wrong.

to refresh a shout out: Theo Mackie does an awesome job covering the Cards.

He followed up with Petzing on the missed shot from the Cards own endzone (btw: that Kurt Warner also had jumped into) --

Just going to put this here for posterity because this is ALL the problem in one image. This is a still from the video above.

People are complaining Kyler runs because nobody is open and then giving him credit for getting something out of nothing.

Literally everyone is open. He has an age but doesn't move his head, doesn't scan the field. I have no idea why he isn't taking one of 3 great options and two lesser ones.

Yeah this is just bad.

Is Marv not open here? I can see the safety, but unless he's Usain Bolt I'm not seeing how he's getting out there in time to make a play on the ball. Are these not the situations WR's and QBs want?

Would you not expect most QB's to make this?

Why does he run from a good pocket?

Even when he starts to run he's looking right at an open Marv, why not throw it then?

Ugh, that one is bad too.

My favorite threads every year. Still shots, no idea of the play call, no idea of the progressions. Still frames showing guys open after the QB has started running already. Assuming audibling out of passes to runs...this thread has it all and it's only week 1!!!!
Progressions don't really matter when every Cardinal on the field is wide open

If he frustrates you just take a moment to consider his perspective man....

He grew up thinking football meant soccer.

It helped me quite a bit honestly.
