This was not a told you so type of article criticizing Dennis Green, but instead a positive thumbs up to Eagles Defensive Coordinator Jim Johnson. The article mentioned that if Green had accepted somewhere else, the Cards were extremely impressed with Johnson and that he was the next choice.

I have always respected what he does with that defense in Philly. The local media would have ripped the Cards had they gone with Johnson.

I'm not sure if I believe this. I thought Fassell was the back up plan. Hiring Johnson would have been the same thing they did when hiring Tobin and Mac. I'm glad they went out and got a guy who has proven he can be successful at the head coaching level instead of another DC.

The eagles are paying johnson a boat load. He gets HC pay I believe.

I think its safe to say he is a proven winner. He would just need a good OC.
