After four rounds, we have a champion in the Blue Federal Credit Union boys bracket.
Two-sport star Preston Mozer is the Blue FCU Fort Collins-area Boys Athlete of the Year for the 2025-26 school year, winning the championship matchup to wrap up two weeks of voting from thousands of fans.
The sophomore beat out fellow Fort Collins track standout Cadel Ruthven at the polls, with Mozer ultimately earning the win at 86.3% of the vote.
Mozer is a more-than-worthy winner of the yearlong award as a football and track-and-field powerhouse for Fort Collins.
First, the wideout helped the Lambkins to their best season on the gridiron in over a decade.
Mozer was Fort Collins' second-leading receiver with 31 catches for 553 yards and five touchdowns as a big-play threat for a squad that went 9-3, won a Class 5A playoff game and pushed some of the state's best teams.
The sophomore's impact was even greater on the track, as Mozer was part of a legendary spring sprinting crew for the Lambkins.
He ran on numerous record-smashing relay squads, including Fort Collins' 4x200-meter relay unit that won the 5A state title and set a new Colorado state record time of 1:24.57.
A 5A first team all-state selection, Mozer also finished second at state in the 400 meters, seventh in the 200 dash and ran on Fort Collins' runner-up 4x100 team.
It all helped Fort Collins romp to a dominant 5A team state title with 99 total points to upend 5A power Cherokee Trail.
Mozer, younger brother of record-setting former Fossil Ridge football/track star Marcus, will have a great shot to join his older brother in the local history books with two more prep seasons to play.
