Former Georgia Bulldogs TE wins UFL championship

A pair of former Georgia Bulldogs both played in the United Football League championship. Former Georgia cornerback Deandre Baker and the DC Defenders fell in the UFL championship to former Georgia tight end Tre' McKitty and the Louisville Kings.

McKitty had one catch for eight yards in the Kings' 27-20 victory. Louisville's passing attack struggled to get going against Deandre Baker and the Defenders' pass defense, which limited Louisville to just 81 passing yards. Baker finished the day with one tackle. However, the Kings' ground game and a 14-point fourth quarter fueled their victory.

Now, Baker and McKitty will hope they impressed NFL teams enough to get a training camp invitation before the 2026 NFL season. McKitty finished the season with five catches for 98 yards while Baker had 13 tackles, one interception and five pass deflections for DC.

Baker, McKitty and linebacker Tae Crowder, who set the UFL single season tackles record, are the three Georgia players that played in the UFL this season.
