Don't get the cheesy comment. Dudes could play their instruments/sing at the highest level. Wrote songs that appealed to all kinds of people.

What's cheesy about that?

He's a chef. All comments must make some reference to food, and "beefy" was a little creepy.

I love journey, but not ironically. I just like them. Steve Perry could sing.

Absolutely! Can sing like a ****. No question. In fact, they can all play incredibly well. But listen to the song faithfully. If that aint the lamest love song ever. In fact, add Wheel in the sky and every other bands' "Woe is me its so hard on the road" power ballad to the list.. Doesnt mean I dont like em. But it doesnt mean its quality lyric writing either.

I just think that Journey was full of escapist (heh, nice pun, eh?) mindless love songs. I prefer my lyrics with a little more meat (theres the tie in to the cheffy nonsense Linder was trying to give me grief about) on their bones.

I certainly have a true love for some music that most would call cheesy or downright awful. I have a no so secret love for deep dark electronic music. But much like I like my movies, I generally prefer my music to be message driven, ie: conscious rap like PE, punk rock and the like.

Ive just never been blown away with that entire era of music. That syrupy 70s-80s radio rock. Truly hated it when I was young. now I have an ironic fancy for it.

Last night I was belting out some "Lights" in the kitchen in the middle of the friday push. Oh I wanna be they-airy-aire in myyyyy citay. Whoa whoa, whoa-hoe-hoe.

Deep stuff.

 Thanks for not letting me down!

Even though I mostly agree with you, your "Faithfully" comment is like a knife through my heart.

Next time I'm in Phoenix, we're going to have to do a karaoke night or something. My signature song is Faithfully. I'll bring down the house. Just you watch!

I actually have a thing for the "its so had on the road" ballads. I have Wanted Dead or Alive, Home Sweet Home, Wheel in the Sky, and Turn the Page in my repertoire as well...

I don't know if I know all the lyrics to a single song. When I think of a song I remember most any lyrics as "nah nah nah nah nah blah blah blah blah blah." Just an excuse to complete a melody. ;)

When dcr downloaded "Don't Stop Believin'" for Rock Band, he made me sing it the first time with my eyes closed, without telling me what song it was first. I think I got a high-90's %-wise, and it wasn't 100% because my pitch was off somewhere a little. ;) I'm your polar opposite.

I once saw the Dead Kennedys at Club Rio... they were good.

I think I was there! Very odd mixture, frat boys and punks. My friends kept dragging me to punk concerts despite my objections after seeing The Misfits. That band scared the hell out of me. Quite literally. Their following was even scarier.

The new Journey sucks, people say the new guy sounds just like Steve Perry.

Maybe if you yanked Steve Perry's voicebox out and inserted a new one sure I can see that.

Queen, now there was a band.

Yeah go ahead and flame away on that one.

Now if you have exquisite musical taste you'll know Jethro Tull is not the lead singer of the band by the same name and you'll know they are awesome. :)

Favorite modern band would be Green Day and U2 is alright but not really modern day anymore, the White Stripes are decent too.

Now back on topic, sorry sometimes I can't fight this feeling anymore......hmmmm you can tune a piano but you can't tuna fish?

ooooops wrong ~80's band.
