Agree but there are some that try and back up statements with facts instead of stating things with absolute certainty with no factual basis.
I get it though.

I'll say this with only the eye test and what I've seen, if Carson Beck is a starter in the NFL, he will have beaten very long odds and changed to be a real QB.

If he had 1st round talent, he'd have went in round 1. He's a lottery ticket and people thinking he should be starting are buying things based on wining the powerball.
Not very smart.
He hasn't even played yet! Cut the dude some slack!

I know a lot of the posters take their opinions and slam Beck like he's some high school player. The fact of the matter is, he was considered to be a top 1st round talent if he came out in 2025 but no.... he messed up his UCL in the SEC Championship Game which required at least an 8 month recovery. He came back at the beginning of the season I think and was playing for Miami. I'm sure he had to strengthen the elbow back up.

But if all of the neisayers want to continue to slam the dude, I guess we got no answers for you all!

By the way, if Beck falls on his face and doesn't work out at all, it is not even close to Monte's worse selection. Right now, I'd say that could be a toss up between the 4th and/or the 27th plck in the 2024 draft. Neither of these two have shown they are worthy of a 1st round selection. Beck was a 3rd round where you take some flyers on.

In big moments he makes the absolute worst decisions. He is an interception machine in the clutch.

I don’t think he’s ready to be a starter, I don’t think he will ever be ready to be a starter. If he plays, I feel bad for our receivers with all the hospital balls he is going to throw, and likely interceptions they are going to have to try to break up.

All of these projections are a year ahead of the draft (also 2 of those are referencing the same original article).

By the time the draft came around in each year there was not even the slightest chance he'd go early, and so he perpetually remained in college until he couldn't. If he had ANOTHER year, I'm sure he'd still playing college football.

He gloated about how he didn't attend classes last year at Miami.

He's like Matt Leinart, only dumber, less talented, older (when they were drafted), a weaker arm and with far less success.

The reason I would want him to start a significant number of games is the fact-driven logic of understanding how stupid and backwards thinking this organization is. I guarantee you that if he doesn't get a long look this season, Monti will be stupid enough to pass on a QB because we have to "see what we have" in Beck. I'm not about even giving Monti that kind of a chance. Granted, he shouldn't be back next season, but does anyone really believe Monti's on the hot seat?

not to hijack the thread but Monti HAS to be on the hot seat. The QB is gone. The HC is gone. Mikey isn't firing himself. The only one left from all this dreck is Monti.

I believe that was the point. He was perceived going into his projected final season to be the top pick.

If Brissett doesn't start, it's an obvious sign Bidwill wants to tank.
The only other rumor I've read is a trade for Mac Jones. I don't even pretend to know the details but something about the 49ers shedding some cap space and the compensatory pick will give them a potentially higher draft pick next year. JB, a pick, a little money for MJ.........

Me and Mrs. Jones re-write: Meeeeeeee aaaand Maac.....Maaaac Jones....Mac Jones, Mac Jones, Maaac Jones.......LOL

I doubt it also, just mentioning what I read yesterday and in a way, it only makes a little sense as to why the cards haven't completed the deal with JB....pure conjecture/assumption on my part

Beck has the size, physical tools and arm to succeed…but just like all college QBs coming in, Does he have it mentally?
Does he have the right attitude?
Can he learn what he’s being taught?
Can he learn the playbook?
Can he process the play and read the defense?
Can he trust the pocket and take a hit if needed?
Can he execute the throw decisively, timely and accurately?
This is a lot to ask of a rookie 3rd rounder in the fast paced big boy league.
Odds are against him but we will know soon enough.
The key to any success with Beck will be patience. The advantage he has is that there is no solid starter ahead of him. No QBOF on the roster.
The job is his to take if he wants it bad enough.

How so? Beck is a third round pick.
The first 4 QBs have not signed yet along with 4 other random playes. Tyler Shough showed last year that QBs get different treatment and now Beck and Allar are both waiting to see what the other two get first.

Fernando Mendoza, the Las Vegas Raiders’ No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, remains unsigned because the main issue is contract language — specifically, how and when his $38.1 million signing bonus will be paid

Beck is projected to take a significant pay cut in the NFL compared to what he made in his final year of college. Beck is unsigned along with several other quarterbacks taken in the draft: Indiana's Fernando Mendoza, Alabama's Ty Simpson and Penn State's Drew Allar.

Last year, New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough, a second-round pick, signed a fully guaranteed deal on July 19 after holding out. Second-round picks normally don't have fully guaranteed deals, but Shough reversed that trend.

It’s obviously different considering Bud Clark has a $2 million signing bonus and just the first three years of his deal fully guaranteed.
