Using yahoo, which should get some really interesting advanced stats through the Windows 10 app (which will have everything except the games that the Xbox One app will have).

Also Yahoo fantasy will link in with it.

Don't know, don't have one.

From what I know (and it might be alterable) they use up a good portion of the screen for their stats. Which probably means you have the regular stats taking up space on the broadcast and the whole thing is shrunk and/or scaled down to provide room for the Xbox One stats.

So if you have say a 55" screen, it might end up being like a 45-48" screen for the game. I don't know how that impacts image quality, because suddenly your 1080p feed is not being displayed dot by dot. I.E. they'll have to drop pixels in order to display it on a smaller part of the screen.

I don't think they alter the ratio though, so I don't think you get that smashed effect making everything look fatter or skinnier.

Apparently if you use an approved fantasy partner, that will run on one of those areas vacated by reducing the size of the game on your screen.

My guess is one side is fantasy, the other side is the advanced stats they are promoting. Think one along say the right side of the screen and one on the bottom.

You need to use an approved partner, I'm not sure who is for the Xbox One app. I think only NFL.COM fantasy football was last year, but I'm in no way sure.

It's nice to know the Windows 10 app will accept yahoo. Perhaps the Xbox One will too.

If you have one, you might as well try it out, maybe for some other team's preseason game.

Yup. I have commissioned leagues on My Fantasy League since 2001. Never had any issues. It's a pay site but tons easier to manage everything from the draft to the homepage.

Hey Chris - I like the look of your homepage. Do you use a particular skin or did you customize it yourself? Sometimes I have had trouble with the modules, so I usually use a pre-made skin but they are kind of simple.

Looks pretty cool. Yahoo keeps upping their game though, plus their phone app is pretty cool.

You can now have keeper leagues in Yahoo, and they do live updates for free the last couple of years, rather then paying for it extra like they tried to get you to do for years.

But they don't have any sort of power rankings like that site does.

Like last year's version, the NFL app provides a wealth of information for fans, including video clips, fantasy stats, and real-time feeds when paired with a paid subscription to the NFL's services. It also lets you pin a score ticker to the side of the screen so you don't miss the action if you're watching something else or playing a video game.

That's interesting, you have to pay for some of the functionality to work.

This time around, however, Microsoft has redesigned the app with a fresh interface and added what it's calling Next Gen Stats, which leverage the data fed from the trackers in every NFL player's uniform. Next Gen Stats replays look like they were pulled right out of Madden or another football video game, and they display information such as velocity, top speed, and distance traveled for each player on the field. Viewers can see the exact routes that each player took during a play and analyze just like a coach on the field. Microsoft says that the new app supports fantasy football programs from NFL.com, CBS, and Yahoo, and it will let fantasy players track their teams and stats in real time every game day.

That's interesting.

Also it says that yahoo will work with the Xbox One app, so that's cool. But ESPN's won't. So it seems NFL.COM, Yahoo, and CBSsports will work.

Significantly less sexy (but appreciated nonetheless) is the improvement to the NFL on Xbox One's notification system. If you mark specific games ahead of time, the app will remind you that they're starting when you're watching (or playing) something different at the time. If one of your opponents in the many fantasy leagues incorporated into the NFL app (which added Yahoo's industry-leading service during last season) earns points, you'll get a heads-up, with the ability to see the play that produced the change. And if you're a multi-league player (if you're reading this, you likely are), you can filter notifications so only your biggest competition pops up.

So it looks like you have more control over what you see and what you don't see/get bothered with.

The Windows 10 app is said to have everything the Xbox One has except the games and/or replays.

Though I do wonder how much bandwidth against your data cap it might suck up if you are streaming games through your Xbox rather then simply watching it through cable/satellite/OTA.

Cox is better then most around the country with it's data caps, but they still have them. Something to be aware of.

The Xbox One has a TV passthrough so you can watch your TV through that. Don't know how the fantasy overlay works with that though.

Cox does have caps but all you get is an email at this point. They don't charge you or penalize you for exceeding your cap just yet. They are testing a stricter policy with caps in Cleveland but no worries anywhere else right now.

I am not the commish of the leagues so I don't have the skins. I am sure they are self customized. All of my leagues look super different.

In that league, I am "Gronkey Kong". Whenever you click on my team page the audio beginning to Donkey Kong plays.

It's a dynasty league that has been running since 2008 so not quite the 90s.

I absolutely love it. Everything is on the front page and there are dozens of customizable reports.

It is night and day how much better the myfantasyleague is compared to anything else.

Here is my local league that has been running for around 10 years. Very simple design. We don't even have divisions.

It makes a right sidebar which does shrink your viewable TV screen. I don't use it but it's cool. I prefer full screen, can check my phone for stats

So how do you set it up? I have Dish, so how does that work? Goes from the dish receiver, to the xbox one, to the TV? Can all this be done via HDMI cables?

Yeah, the Xbox has a feed that goes through using HDMI cables exclusively. I love it for my TV - I've gotten so used to voice commands that sometimes I catch myself almost trying to talk to other things in my house.

That said, I don't watch NFL games at home much - normally it's out at the bar with friends, with my family, or I'm driving/flying in for Cards home games. That makes it kind of useless for fantasy tracking.

All in all, I'm still an ESPN guy. Yahoo is extremely frustrating sometimes. I don't like how clumsy it is to get decent updates on players or look at their points scored. I'm in two Yahoo leagues this year, but I hope that's it.

I haven't been to that site since 2009 when he was taking money from people and delaying league payouts.
