New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo is in for a big year in fantasy football in 2026.
Skattebo was on a tear during the first eight games of the 2025 season. The California native recorded 410 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns before suffering a season-ending dislocated ankle. Heading into the upcoming season, he is viewed as a player with the potential to rush for 1,000 yards and make a significant impact across the stat sheet.
Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano has named Skattebo a fantasy football breakout candidate at the running back position for the 2026 season.
Skattebo will not only threaten to record his first 1,000-yard rushing season in 2026 but also produce in the receiving game. The Arizona State product registered 207 receiving yards last season.
ESPN Fantasy Football projects him to finish with 1,048 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns, along with 365 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns, for a total of 242.08 fantasy points in PPR leagues.
Skattebo figures to be a strong option to draft across multiple formats next season.

Skattebo looked terrific in his rookie season, posting 617 scrimmage yards, seven touchdowns and 127.7 fantasy points despite missing nine games following an ankle fracture. He’s expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, and the Giants didn’t make any offseason moves that would negatively affect his projected workload. While durability issues are evident, Skattebo has a nice ceiling and could push to be a must-start fantasy runner on a weekly basis in 2026.
